Call me crazy or a homer or anything you want. But this catch by Gabriel in the Vikings game was a thing of beauty.

First of all, it's a 3rd and 6 from outside of FG range, so it's a pressure packed play. Gabriel gets past Hill and goes up for it, while Hill commits PI, by pulling his right arm out of the way. So he grabs it in flight with his left arm only, clawing at it to barely hold on as he bounces off the ground. Keep in mind that Gabriel is neither big nor strong, nor has big hands like ARob or JWims. For a guy built like that to make that kind of catch is pretty incredible.

In my eyes, clearly worth it's own topic.

Mikefive's theory: The only time you KNOW that a sports team player, coach or management member is being 100% honest is when they're NOT reciting "the company line".

Go back to leather helmets, NFL.

Gabriel is small, but he's pretty damn strong. IMO

However, yes - it was a big catch that sort of set the tone for the Bears having total/complete control of the football game.

Much like Burton. Gabriel was pretty far down the depth chart on his prior team. I think he was WR4 on the Falcons. He was known for his speed, and that’s what we were all waiting to see. What I don’t think any of us were ready for were his hands and his catch radius. His body control in the air is ridiculous. Remember, he made a similar catch in Miami, streaking down the sidelines.

He’s a tremendous Z receiver. Just another great acquisition by Pace.

Took those exact words out of my head. Dude was almost flying backwards as he caught the ball. That was Lynn Swann-esque.

Highlight reel stuff and I agree. He was another key piece Pace added to fill out players who'd be perfect for Nagy.
