Lots of people dropping out, so the Pro Bowl substitutes keep pouring in.

Cody should not have been a substitute. He's put together a couple of really good years at C. Too bad he'll be moving to LG next year.

Nothing against Cody, but this is why the game is bigger joke than before, multiple peeps begging out of it.

I'm going to love it when eventually their only choices will be to send backups to the Pro Bowl or cancel the whole retarded affair.

I think I it's as simple as with the money and non-guaranteed contracts that it's just not worth the injury risk for a lot of players. There was a time when $20k+ and a trip to Hawaii was worth it but not anymore.

Good for Cody of course.

They should do away with the game, and list players in title only.

Agreed. It’s pointless. Have some fun skills competitions, even have the players down for events where they interact with fans or something if you must have an event. But the game is pointless.

You think so? Once Daniels got a couple of games under his belt he looked good for a rookie.

I don't think Whitehair is going anywhere, neither is Daniels.

I do think we'll have a new starting RT next season and anticipate Kyle Long will cut or restructured after the 2019-2020 season.

Cody Whitehair is the Bear's unsung hero according to Nick Shook of NFL.com:
CHICAGO BEARS: Cody Whitehair, center. Whitehair doesn't get the credit he deserves as the center on a Chicago line that is one of the more cohesive groups in football. Whitehair ranked 10th among centers in 2018, per Pro Football Focus, and was the leader of a group that tied for eighth in the NFL in sacks allowed with just 33. With Whitehair snapping the ball to him, Mitch Trubisky (and the Bears' offense) should continue to improve in the years to come.

One thing that Cody has to be given high marks for is his availability. He's started all 16 games for 3 seasons.

This kid was an OT in college we converted to OC as a rookie where he looked very good despite his inexperience at the position. Then we shuffled him all around the interior in 2017 interrupting his development at OC yet he held up fine.

This year he finally got to spend an entire season at OC and with some great coaching from HH finally seems to have licked his issue with erratic snaps and he gets a Pro Bowl nod. He's only 26 and we could and have done a lot worse at OC than him. He's been a steady leader as well especially with Long once again missing numerous games.

Whether or not we flip him and Daniels in 2019 remains to be seen but neither has given any indication they aren't or can't be above average players at their current positions.
