The Bears announce the hiring of Mark DeLeone as inside linebackers coach. He held that role with the Chiefs in 2018 and overlapped in KC with Matt Nagy when he was the assistant linebackers coach (2015-17) and defensive quality control coach (2013-14).

Not going to lie, don’t know much about the dude. I’m hoping he had something to do with Hitchens coming in at #5 in tackles last season.

No evidence this DeLeone is a good coach at this point, but ILB isn't exactly a position to be worried about.

I would imagine this will be the opposite of the Fangio/Donatell relationship. Pagano will focus heavily on the secondary and Ted Monachino will focus on the entire front seven in addition to coaching outside linebackers. Monachino has coached DL as well as LBs in the NFL in addition to a couple of years as Pagano's defensive coordinator. Or maybe the dividing line is Monachino with the DL and OLB's on the line of scrimmage, and Pagano focusing on the DB's and ILB's.
