Saw that on twitter earlier today, good stuff!

Mitch is going to be a force, for a long time to come, if his growth continues forwards along this same trajectory next season.

Watching Jared Goff over the last four games of the year, and then in the playoffs. There are A LOT more questions now than answers. It was clear that teams had figured out how to stop that offense, and Goff is not good at the line of scrimmage without McVey in his ear.

I'm excited to see the step that Mitch takes next year, with another offseason in this offense under his belt.

Goff is a product of his environment, and honestly is Jay Cutler with better footwork and a weaker arm.

Mitch has a lot of quirks and bumps in his game, but his leadership is without question, and his desire to succeed is relentless. I believe he'll be a top 5 QB before he's 30.

I think that Cutler was a better athlete than Goff. More elusive, better at QB scrambles, taking hits, etc.

The loss of Cooper Kupp turned out to be bigger than anyone thought. Would have been interesting to see how the game went if he was healthy.

I don't want to be too hard on Goff, but it's clear he's a bit of a puppet with McVay pulling the strings. When Goff has to improvise and do something on his own after the headset cuts off, he struggles. It's some Cyrano de Bergerac shit.

Remember, he was the guy who didn't know from which direction the sun rose. He will be fine. Big game, that the masses watched, he played poorly against the best coached team in existence. Not really shocked. I think McVay was off his game as well.

Goff also has that passive droopiness to his demeanor that makes me unimpressed. I know, I know; it's a bad argument, but I'd follow a guy like Mitch 100 times out of 100 before I'd go with Goff.

I think, more than any other team, the Bears exposed that part of Goff. They shifted defenses with 7-10 seconds left in the play clock, and it absolutely befuddled Goff. So question becomes, is Goff a good NFL QB, or is he only good when someone can make his defensive reads for him?

That said, the dedication he shows to learning his craft gives us hope that he'll keep improving, maybe enough to win championship games next year with our defense. I look at the Rams, only 18 rushes. In my mind there should have been probably at least 10 more rushes. I think McVay was out thinking himself and went away from the run too much. He never gave Gurley a chance to get lathered up.

Although at that time I preferred Pace pursue Jimmy Garappolo I'll admit to being a Trubisky fan even before we drafted him. He was the only rookie QB I saw as being the right fit in Chicago and I've always been happy we drafted him.

Mahomes may be a little faster out of the gate but to me he's a different style QB whose also had some advantages Mitch has not as far as his development within a very well established offense with most of it's pieces in place before he arrived.

IMHO Nagy and his staff are doing a great job of coaching Mitch. He advanced quite a bit this year and for the most part played well in a new offense with a receivers he's never worked with before this year. Next year should tell us a lot.

Nagy did a great job of tailoring the playbook to where Biscuit was at in his career this past season. I think if he has to that'll continue next year although I suspect this team is seriously pissed off and will be hungry as hell to improve for next season.

I was also very impressed by that last drive against the Eagles. It looked like we were fucked but Biscuit took the reigns and drove us down that field. I know its one drive and its a semi-meatball thing to think about, but that's the only playoff game example we have of Biscuit.

I consider 2018 to be Biscuit's true rookie year. In the first year with a new HC, OC, WR group for the most part and a complex offense, Biscuit didn't really LOSE a game for us. The games where he didn't play well that come to mind are the New England game and the Rams game. The New England game we lost mainly because special teams gave up a couple scores. The Rams game was a win anyway because of the defense.

New system
New HC
... PLUS the fact that Nagy is more of a rookie as a HC than Biscuit is as a QB.

I see this as the beginning of a good, sustained stretch for the Bears.
