dont hate it. solid KR and teams have to respect his speed, i think for that money Nagy has a plan on how he can be utilized in gadget plays and depth at WR.
He torched us pretty bad in the game against NE if i recall correctly. Im just happy to not have mizzell returning kicks.
Not much more than what Bellamy got. He’s essentially got the same career return average as Sayers. If they use him like Cohen I’ll like love it. If they use him like Gabriel I won’t.
A tall version of Cohen... Can play WR or RB and ripped off a TD on a kick return against us last year. I like the signing! A little pricey but man the speed on this offense is going to give defenders fits.
”Damn -- Khalil Mack had another strip sack?” Gruden asked rhetorically, shaking his head at the Oakland Raiders assistant coaches in his midst. “Are you ... kidding me?”
I like this signing. Not only will he solve the kick return issues, Nagy will line this dude up everywhere creating mismatches.

Amen to that! lol
Man watching vids on him... He is going to be fun to watch he can hit another gear instantly there was one play where 2 guys looked to have him cut off and 2 steps later he's past them and running down the sideline lol. If you guys have a chance check out his college highlights they're pretty impressive as well.

I like it for what he brings to the KR game alone. Getting the extra feild position without risking Cohen is a good thing. I can also picture a speed package with Gabriel, Cohen, and Patterson al on the field.

The Vikings could never turn him into a legitimate WR though and its curious to me that he would be used as an RB???
The patriots lined him up at rb occassionally and he did surprisngly well. I think it started due to injury but i could be remembering that wrong. Dont think he could be a full time back but several touches a game absolutely. I love this signing. Price isnt the best but its a short deal and he could be very productive here replacing bellamy/mizzell. And his skill as a kr is undeniable

He had more carries than receptions with the Pats for what it’s worth. Like 2x more.
The Patriots of course are creative and smart and he looked natural when he was used as a RB. Coaches always say ' get the ball in the hands of our playmakers' and good teams seem to do that. His versatility should be a match made in heaven for Nagy. I like it!

Good to know I didnt realize they gave him that many carries. I like this move even more now!
If Bellamy is getting 3.5 million a year then I guess Patterson getting 5 million does make sense. I thought they needed another speed threat on the team, especially if Gabriel or Cohen were to get hurt at all this season. If everyone is healthy then Patterson becomes another versatile tool that at the very least gets Mizzell off the field.

This logic baffles me. If he's that good, then teams will kick it out of the end zone, which already happens most of the time anyway. So the only value is that we get the ball at the 25 instead of the 17 because our KR team was so poor. So I guess there's that value.

just for return duties alone, this is a good deal ... the fact he is a versatile part of the offense means when he and Cohen are on the field at the same time, some creativity can really happen
nice pickup by the Bears

I do think it's an interesting move for a team with a really creative coach looking for production out of the RB spot. I imagine them occasionally going empty, lining him up wide and having him just take off. If nothing else, with his speed, that's going to pull a safety over in any kind of zone, which opens things up in the middle of the field.
