I don’t know if it will impact the cap. Will 930 be in the top 51 contracts?

Honestly even if it did effect the team I don't care personally. I am sure Miller and Knox are brought spots in the nfl players eyes. So it's win win.

It's not much, but the sources seem credible.

Yes, although it will probably only exceed the 52nd by maybe 400k, so it's not costing your cap the full 930k.

Awesome, I believe the Steelers are doing the same thing with Shazier. In a sport where injury are not if but when, this is classy and I wish more teams followed suit.

The full 53 count once the season starts but I could not care less. Actually, it could be a vet exception deal which will only cost the same against the cap as a 1st year rook anyway.

I’m even ok with it if it costs a bit of cap space. By all accounts he’s a terrific guy, and they’re obviously just looking for excuses to keep the guy around and give him access to the medical staff. I hope he eventually moves into some sort of coaching role and sticks around even longer.

Correct. It will only be a $645k cap hit. Same as a 2nd year vet.

Zach is a great guy to have around as an unofficial coach.

Ah, 2nd year rather than rook, thought I'd miss something!

This has got to count for something with free agents too, especially if we can put together another good year and really get into the ring chaser market.

A good move by the team to do right by Miller.

I truly love this move. IDT he'll ever play again, but I have a feeling after this year he'll become a assistant coach to TEs.

I would love for him to joint the coaching staff rather than play again ... I don't want to see a repeat of that grotesque leg twist, resulting in a worse outcome second time around

I want the goal line TD someone mentioned above with Miller then faking an injury for jokes!

Not many companies (if any at all) would do what they are doing for Miller... I mean I watched year after year colleagues get put to the pasture and forgotten about because of things like carpal tunnel or stress-related illnesses from crazy deadlines in the film and tv industry.

It's nice to see the Bears take care of one of their own. This needs to happen league-wide more often! I'm proud to be a Bear fan right now. Being a guy who struggles with healthcare in this country when you read a story like this you know there's some hope out there still...
