I will draft Bill George, the first true MLB in the history of football. 18 career INTs, 19 recovered fumbles, and for fucks sake Wikipedia is telling me he kicked field goals!

Since it's the Bears, it's all about MLBs and RBs. I've got my MLB. Now it's time for a ball carrier and there are many to choose from. However, with Payton and Sayers gone, I'm going with my next choice, 2x all-pro, 2x NFL champion and member of the all decade team...
Red Grange, RB
He also was an accomplished DB, so he adds flexibility to my team.
Working on my next pick in R3...

Mikefive's theory: The only time you KNOW that a sports team player, coach or management member is being 100% honest is when they're NOT reciting "the company line".

OK, my next pick seems a little strange to me, since it's another low priority position. But there's no questioning this guy's credentials. All-pro in all 8 of his NFL seasons, 3x NFL champion and member of the all-decade team. And in an admirably amazing twist, missed practice time in 4 seasons to attend medical school and ultimately became a surgeon after his star studded NFL career ended. I couldn't pass up...

G08 is on the clock and doing some research. His next pick should be in soon.Mikefive wrote:OK, my next pick seems a little strange to me, since it's another low priority position. I will draft DE Ed Sprinkle. Known to many as "The meanest man in football" and George Halas called him "the greatest pass rusher I've ever seen"

I wanted to a take QB with this pick and I was hoping either Jim McMahon or Jay Cutler were on the board.
I am lucky enough to be in a situation where both of them are available.
Given that Ditka is my TE, the very thought that McMahon could be the QB throwing him the ball is almost too good to pass up.
I said "almost too good to pass up".
There is another QB the Bears have had that I just love. Some love him, some don't like him, but I can't get enough of the guy. The golden arm, the reality show, the facial expressions, and just him being him. I think he was a victim of the revolving door at OC (Ron Turner, Mike Martz, Mike Tice, Aaron Kromer and Adam Gase which I think is all of them?), a defense in decline, and an inadequate offensive line. But oh wow did I think he did great in spite of it all.
I gladly select Jay Cutler and I look forward to him throwing passes to Ditka on my team.
My pick: QB - Jay Cutler.

Otis selects Neal Anderson. The played some FB his rook year to get some PT. Moved into the RB slot after Sweetness retired. Had 3 consecutive 1000+ yd seasons. Helluva receiver and 4 time Pro Bowler.

Dammit Marshall Plan!!!
I mean, we had Sid Luckman and Cutler...and that was about it.
I'll take Jay Hilgenberg.
I'm just gonna run the wildcat with Sayers.

Otis Day, takes the real, the one and only #55, Doug Buffone
Buffone racked up 1200 unofficial tackles. His 18 sacks (although not officially recorded as an official statistic) in the 1968 season are a team record. His 24 career interceptions are tops among Chicago Bears linebackers all time. At the time of his retirement after the 1979 season, Buffone was the Bears all time leaders in games played with 186. He’s since been passed by Steve McMichael and Patrick Mannelly to rank third all time.

Alright... I've got my bell-cow RB, stud MLB, stud DE, I need help at WR for these stacked boxes so I'm taking Alshon Jeffery, WR.
