NFL cuts for all 32 teams: Who's in and who's out
UH..only team not listed..Chicago Bears..?
NFC NORTH
Detroit Lions
When Bob Quinn drafted Teez Tabor in the second round in 2017, he defended the selection by saying he's the player he scouted the most in the entire draft. Two years later, Tabor is waived and that's actually a good sign for Detroit. Quinn has been good in the past about moving on from players when he realizes they aren't going to work out for Detroit, loyalty aside. He has been partial to his draft picks, though. Still he waived both of the Lions' seventh-round picks: tight end Isaac Nauta and defensive tackle P.J. Johnson. The other major move of note was keeping three quarterbacks, with Josh Johnson beating out Tom Savage for the No. 2 spot and then David Blough, who the team traded for Friday. -- Michael Rothstein
Waived/released: S Andrew Adams, CB Johnathan Alston, DT John Atkins, OL Luke Bowanko, LB Malik Carney, CB Andre Chachere, TE Jerome Cunningham, OT Andrew Donnal, LB Garret Dooley, WR Jonathan Duhart, DT P.J. Johnson, DT Fred Jones, WR Tom Kennedy, C Leo Koloamatangi, WR Jordan Lasley, WR Tommylee Lewis, DE/LB Eric Lee, DE Mitchell Loewen, LB Steve Longa, TE Isaac Nauta, OT Matt Nelson, QB Luis Perez, LB Anthony Pittman, OT Ryan Pope, WR Brandon Powell, K/P Ryan Santoso, QB Tom Savage, DL Ray Smith, RB Justin Stockton, OL Micah St. Andrew, CB Jamar Summers, CB Teez Tabor, RB Mark Thompson, TE Austin Traylor, S Charles Washington, RB James Williams, DE Jonathan Wynn
Waived/injured: WR Andy Jones
Green Bay Packers
The Packers cut last year's No. 2 quarterback DeShone Kizer and are going with Tim Boyle as Aaron Rodgers' only backup for the moment. They're also sticking with Mason Crosby as the kicker for the 13th season after a competition with Sam Ficken. The biggest surprise? Wide receiver Darrius Shepherd made the team, and he took the most unlikely path. He wasn't among the 28 receivers drafted or the 73 others signed as undrafted free agents shortly after the draft this year. That means he was no better than the 102nd best receiver in this year's class.

Now he's one of Aaron Rodgers' six receivers. The Packers went with the 5-foot-11 Shepherd over the 6-5 Allen Lazard, who garnered praise from Rodgers late in the preseason. Shepherd also can back up Trevor Davis on kick and punt returns. -- Rob Demovsky
Waived/released: G Dejon Allen, TE Evan Baylis, FB Tommy Bohanon, RB Tra Carson, G Anthony Coyle, T Gerhard de Beer, CB Kabion Ento, K Sam Ficken, LB James Folston, RB Keith Ford, S Natrell Jamerson, LB Markus Jones, CB Jocquez Kalili, QB DeShone Kizer, WR Allen Lazard, DL James Looney, S Tray Matthews, TE Pharoah McKever, WR J'Mon Moore, T Yosh Nijman, G/T Adam Pankey, CB Jackson Porter, LB Randy Ramsey, WR Teo Redding, CB Nydair Rouse, DL Olive Sagapolu, LB Brady Sheldon, DL Deon Simon, WR Malik Taylor, QB Manny Wilkins
Physically unable to perform: S Ibraheim Campbell, LB Greg Roberts
Injured reserve: WR Equanimeous St. Brown
Waived/injured: LB Curtis Bolton, FB Malcolm Johnson
Traded: LB Reggie Gilbert (Titans), OL Justin McCray (Browns)
Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings walked away from punter/kicker Kaare Vedvik after acquiring him three weeks ago from Baltimore for a fifth-round pick. The move isn't surprising given how much Vedvik struggled in Minnesota, going 1-of-4 on field goals after notching 12-of-13 in Baltimore the past two preseasons. Minnesota hopes to get Vedvik back on the practice squad but for now will move forward with Dan Bailey at kicker, Matt Wile as the punter and rookie Austin Cutting at long snapper. The uncertainty with this unit still remains, but after a wild preseason with personnel shifts throughout the kicking unit, things are settled for now. -- Courtney Cronin
Waived/released: WR Laquon Treadwell, WR Jeff Badet, WR Davion Davis, WR Brandon Zylstra, WR Alexander Hollins, WR Dillon Mitchell, WR Jordan Taylor, RB De'Angelo Henderson, FB Khari Blasingame, TE Cole Hikutini, QB Kyle Sloter, QB Jake Browning, T Aviante Collins, T Storm Norton, T Nate Wozniak, C Cornelius Edison, C John Keenoy, DE Ade Aruna (injured), DE Anree Saint-Armour, DE Karter Schult, DE Stacy Keely, DT Curtis Cothran, DT Tito Odenigbo, LB Reshard Cliett, LB Devante Downs, LB Greer Martini, LB Cameron Smith, CB Craig James, CB Nate Meadors, CB Bene Benwikere, CB Duke Thomas, S Isaiah Wharton (injured), S Derron Smith, P/K Kaare Vedvik
Physically unable to perform: TE David Morgan

I didn't think Bars looked good against the Titans the other night, but Lucas is horrible.
You have to assume between Lucas sucking up a spot and 6 inside linebackers on the roster, they’re planning something right? Even if it’s just some waiver wire shuffling.Middleguard wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2019 6:32 pm I didn't think Bars looked good against the Titans the other night, but Lucas is horrible.

I was closer than I usually am. I had Bars, Bullard, and Vaughters; I missed Lucas, Anderson, and Woods.

Vaughters has a good preseason. That’s disappointing. Bars is probably more of a project than we realized.

6 ILBs is ridiculous.
I wonder if they're playing a game of chicken with someone. Bears wanted to trade someone, other team said "nah, we'll just wait for cuts". Bears said "keep waiting", and kept them all.

Keeping Lucas over Bars is a real head scratcher.
Mikefive's theory: The only time you KNOW that a sports team player, coach or management member is being 100% honest is when they're NOT reciting "the company line".

They put a premium on speed/quicks. Josh Woods? Former S is a fast ILB. Iggy? Zoom. Nall was multi-phase productive in preseason. But Whyte is fast. This team can run around with just about anyone.

Jeff Allen OT/OG 6'4" 304lbs
8 seasons 66 starts. Surprise cut, good depth.
Marshall Newhouse OT/OG 6'5" 330LBS
10 seasons 72 starts not a good starter but serviceable backup.
Mitch Hyatt OT 6'5" 305lbs
Udfa cut by team with good OL. Was highly thought of in the udfa process.
John Franklin-Myers DE 6'4" 288lbs
Played last year for rams, with 2 sacks. Could add 5t depth with bullards release.
Noah Spence OLB 6'2" 252lbs
First round talent character concerns, no production, but system wasn't a fit either.
Jachai Polite OLB 6'3" 258lbs
3rd round edge rusher with higher ceiling. Character concerns an his 4 months before being cut are concerns.

I guess they waived the guys who they thought would be more likely to clear waivers and re-join the team. So for example now they have Vaughters and Irving instead of just Vaughters. Same gamble with Bars and others. With Bars they had him out there playing LT. so is a team going to claim him as an OG on the 53 now that the season is upon us? No. I get it I just don't like it. These guys are highly likely to end up signing to the PS, and almost certainly are planning to come back to this situation.

I don't understand why Bars didn't make it. Somebody is going to pick him up. Maybe there's an injury we don't know about.

Good to see both Bars and Vaughters back on the PS. With another year seasoning I can see both becoming really good depth pieces for the Bears at a time when cap and draft picks will be low.
Have a great day

Looks like Bars, Vaughters, Ives, and almost everyone you'd expect other than Duck are on the PS.The Marshall Plan wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2019 3:15 pm I don't understand why Bars didn't make it. Somebody is going to pick him up. Maybe there's an injury we don't know about.

I would think so as well. Too much pedigree. He would be an ideal young OG to develop. The Marshall Plan wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2019 3:15 pm I don't understand why Bars didn't make it. Somebody is going to pick him up. Maybe there's an injury we don't know about.

Bars on the PS is fine. He can be in a controlled environment where his knee can continue to heal/get stronger. Having him on the bench isn’t a bad option, but I see the upside in having him avoid a Guy-Rolls-Up-a-Knee scenario.
