Good. 1- he deserves it. 2- it helps with the cap.
Well deserved (assuming it comes through). A big bright spot in a black hole of an offense. This also helps us with the cap situation.
A lot of talk surrounding him and Dalvin Cook being in their 2nd year removed from ACL surgery heading into 2019. Which is typically when you see a player look like his old self (or else you may never see it again). He was a great example of that coming true for us. As was Cook for Minnesota.

This would be great. He's only like 4 years from becoming the greatest Bears WR of all time.

I think Pace typically makes these moves as the new season kicks off... I'd expect to see something in place by then. It sounds like Robinson wants to finish his career here.

Robinson is a solid top receiver. He has proven himself.

He does want to stay with Chicago. And they want him. Pace will get a deal done which puts Robinson's annual salary more commensurate with other producing WRs but gives some cap relief.

Spotrac has market value estimates up for some of The FA WR. 3/36 for Robby Anderson and 5/98 for Amari Cooper. I think splitting the difference on these two would be a decent estimate. 3/48 extension (4/61 total) . His final year he has a 15M cap hit and 13M salary. At 16M/per you can give him 20-25 in new guarantees and backloads some of it to give a few mil of cap relief in 2020.
