Dumb question

Thu Mar 19, 2020 11:50 am

But how are we handling the physicals for these players if they can't travel? And if the answer is that it has to wait until travel restrictions are lifted, then is there any risk that someone changes their mind and we lose them?

I don't think it's a dumb question at all. I'd imagine there's some contract language about it. There's probably some independent doctors and such that are being used.

Luckily, the Bears haven't signed anyone with big question marks. Foles had the collarbone thing, but I don't think that's enough to be concerned about.

NFL Network just did a segment on this last night with Rapoport. Yeah, basically nothing is entirely official. Even Brady could technically back out. I wouldn't actually expect anyone to bail, though.

My understanding was basically finding a mutually agreeable doctor between the team/nfl and player/agent/etc, and letting that do. Might have to alter contract language to reflect conditions of having it performed again by a league doc.
