Needed depth. Not sure I trust him and Vaughters only as the backups so hopefully theres more competition to come.

Has he even flashed? This feels a little uncreative to me. I’d like a guy with some upside even as a bottom of the roster

He's rushed the passer really well against backups in preseason- looked like a rock star against scrubs. But he hasn't been able to get it done in very limited action against starters in the regular season. He's significantly bigger/more muscle than he was a few years ago, so there's some hope that he'll be able to hold up better against starting level competition. He also knows our scheme and all, so that just helps generally. Seems like a good depth signing to me.
