Always in favor of trying to fill as many holes pre-draft. Obviously the Bears won't be making more big signings, but there are still FA available who may help fill voids and should come cheap, as in near-minimum type deals. Some ideas below. No offense to the guys listed here as some actually are pretty talented, but at this point in FA you're usually unsigned for a reason and it means your price is ready to come down.

RB Depth
Patterson might see a bigger role this season, but another body would be a good idea here;
Targets;
Lamar Miller - Did not play in 2019
Coming off a torn ACL and a lot of mileage, the 29 year old hasn't seen a market develop. Perhaps an incentive laden deal could be agreeable?

Chris Thompson - 2019 stats: 37 Rush 138 yds, 42 Rec 378 yards
Brings most of his value as a 3rd down back with almost as many career receptions as rushes.

Spencer Ware - 2019 stats: 17 Rush, 51 yards, 5 reception 22 yards.
Hasn't done much since his productive 2016 where he had 1300+ combined yards. Sat out 2017 with an injury and not found himself back into the primary rotation with KC. But notable since he'd have familiarity with Nagy.

Slot WR/ Speed WR
The Bears lack top end speed in their WR group outside of Patterson who is more a gadget offensive option.
Targets:
Paul Richardson - 2019 stats: 28 rec, 248 yards, 2 TD
After three seasons with Y/R of 13+ Richardson put up only 8.8 yards per catch in 2019, but could be a good prove-it candidate for a team looking to replace Gabriels production.

Chris Hogan - 2019 stats: 8 rec, 67 yards
Production really dropped off in 2019, but that was with poor QB play in Carolina. But, each of the 4 preceding years he put up at least 34 receptions and a 12.5 Y/R average. Also has contributed to ST play in past years, an important trait for a possible 5/6 WR

Taylor Gabriel - 2019 stats: 29 rec 353 yards 4 TD
Hey we know how he fits on the team. The longer he goes unsigned, maybe he'd be open to being back on a small deal

Swing Tackle
Ifedi may fill the swing OT role, but also figures to compete on the inside. So they need another body here.
Targets;
James Hurst - 44 starts at T and G over 6 seasons with the Ravens. Spent 2014-16 with new OL coach Castillo. PFF Grades Hurst a 68.0 in 194 snaps in 2019

Cameron Irving - Another guy with experience G and T (even some C) including 8 starts with the Chiefs in 2019. Only graded out at 44.8 by PFF in 589 snaps in 2019.

Jason Spriggs - Sat out all 2019 with injury, which has been a theme in his short career. Only 9 starts in his career with GB, but still young.

Cornerback
They've added a lot of depth already to CB, but might be interested in another vet body to throw at the competition;
Targets;
Brandon Carr- Okay no question he's getting up there in age at 34, but he's started EVERY game of an illustrious 12 year career. He hasn't filled the stats sheet with a ton of INT and PD over the past few years, and PFF graded him at 67.6 in 2019, but you couldn't ask for a more dependable FA CB option as a C.Y.A signing. We'll see if a market devleops for him or not.

Morris Claiborne- Spent 2019 as mostly a reserve with the Chiefs, but has plenty of starting experience. A big time bust from his 6th overall selection, he probably still has value to provide. PFF graded him 63.9 in his limited 2019 stats.

Prince Amukamara - As with Gabriel, maybe there's room for the former cap causality to come back on a small deal. The longer he goes without signing, the more plausible it becomes.

Safety
Deon Bush is the presumptive SS starter. I think there's a good chance they could find a starter with one of their seconds, but can't hurt to bring in another vet option. Most options will be more in the box guys which will allow EJax to go back to his successful single high role where he created lots of turnovers before spending more time up in the box with Clinton-Dix as his running mate in 2019
Targets;
Tony Jefferson - a board favorite, his 2019 torn ACL could be effecting his market. Perhaps another good incentive-laden target.

Clayton Geathers - has started 22 games the past two years with Indy. PFF rated him a 65.7 in 2019. Could still command a slightly larger contract, but with Jefferson and Reid also on the market, some of these guys market values figure to drop.

Tavon Wilson - Has spent time as a starter and a reserve, the past 4 in Detroit, so Chicago should be familiar with him. Had 13 starts in 2019 with 69 tackles and PFF graded him a pretty favorable 71.8

Eric Reid - I think he may still sign a decent size contract, but if his outspoken political nature hurts his value with teams across the leaugue, he'd no doubt be a value signing based on talent alone, so he's worth mentioning.

Eric Reid was apparently very bad in terms of pass coverage last year

Deone Buchanon as a SS is very intriguing to me. Loved him coming out. Played really well first three years mostly as a LB/S hybrid. Hasn't done well since his injury.
