The Bears haven't started a season 1-0 since 2013, second longest drought in the NFL behind the Browns in 2004.

Yeah, that will happen when you aren't matched up with either western division that year. Then, the one game you do play is primetime. Still, a good amount of prime time relative to the average team.

Or finishing at Minny.

I'll miss the Thanksgiving game, though.

A lot of winnable games on that schedule. A lot of teams that have fallen from grace in the last year or two, i.e. Panthers, Falcons, Rams (Chicago broke Goff). In a normal year, there are 10 wins on that schedule.

It’s unfortunate that the bye is late and November is BRUTAL. There’s no obvious place to switch QBs

Late bye is usually regarded as a good thing. That's when you really need it most. Mid to late is best. Kind of splits the season up. Play 10, rest and get ready for the stretch run.

November does not have a gimme game like the other months. However, we've lost to Minnesota at home three times this entire century. So, I usually like that one. Especially on primetime.

I truly don't get the whole Tennessee fascination. They went 9-7, beat an absolute walking dead NE team in an ugly game and then pulled a huge upset vs Baltimore. It was a fun story, but they're not "good". Their D sort of just "got hot" for those two games and I doubt Tannehill can do that again.

I will be glad to host a tailgate at the Jags game if anyone is interested in coming down to FL just after Christmas. So happy that game is in December, the visitor side of the stadium is hot early in the year.

Was it Fox who liked to break up the schedule in quarters? The first quarter of the season could be one where the Bears can go 3-1, depending on how well doofus Nagy has the offense ready after working them in the preseason :( :-o :-? . It's the second quarter of the season that will show if the Bears are contenders or pretenders. Will the Bucs with GoAT be hitting their stride? While the Panthers should be an easy win (rebuilding) the following two will be difficult tests with the Rams and Saints.

Between Minny and the Pukers I expect one (or maybe both?) to regress. I'm curious to see how our matchups against the AFC South opponents turn out. Will the Tits flatten? Will Foles play against his former team? The second half should be very interesting if the Bears can get to 6-2 AND hopefully all of the schedule goes on.
San Francisco has always been my favorite booing city. I don't mean the people boo louder or longer, but there is a very special intimacy. Music, that's what it is to me. One time in Kezar Stadium they gave me a standing boo.

Fox did it too. It's common in the "old school" coaches around the league
2023 Preseason Downside prediction:
5-6 wins, never really healthy all season, a constant shuffling.
We're potentially in a position to draft in the Top 5 again, depending on the Carolina team, and probably have a low-teens (or better) pick ourselves.

Fox's famous saying was "a rising tide lifts all boats." I guess you could include, "I'm not a doctor" but that's not as fun.

Should get off to a good start (5-1 is doable) and I saw we had the 6th easiest schedule.

We should be back in the playoff

I think the schedule is favorable and we can get off to a hot start potentially! The back end is rough so I think the bye week comes at a good time. Prediction: 11-5 Playoff bound. #BearDown
