Other Cuts

Tue Jul 28, 2020 8:58 am

Roster moves: The Bears on Sunday also released linebacker Devante Bond and waived safety Kentrell Brice and receiver Alex Wesley.

This got overshadowed and buried by the Shaheen story.

None of them played here, but I'm shocked by the Bond cut. At a position with incredibly thin depth, they cut the only guy with any experience??

Bond actually played in 3 games at the end of the season. That no one notice is probably why he was cut.

Wasn’t aware that Ben Braunecker was cut as well. Only JP Holtz and Jesper Horsted remain from last year.

Did Holtz even play TE last year? I only saw him at Fullback.

He did - he actually had a couple of really nice plays against the Cowboys on some TE screens.

The pride of Hoffman Estates, Eric Saubert, is also back - he's a leftover from last year.
