John Jenkins Covid?
Apparently Jenkins tested positive for Covid. Does that mean he's out 2-3 weeks? There's goes our backup NT. Guess Bilal will have to step up or bring on SNACKS!

Re: John Jenkins Covid?
It could be that he just reported that he was in contact with someone else who tested positive. So he would have to quarantine too. The new status is for folks who either tested or were near someone who tested positive.
Slow, dumb and mediocre are no way to go through life, Bears.

While, technically, he might not have tested positive (and the team isn't allowed to say), odds are high that he did.The NFL's new reserve/COVID-19 list category was created for players who either test positive for COVID-19 or who have been quarantined after having been in close contact with an infected person. If a player falls into either of these categories, his club is required to immediately place the player on the reserve/COVID-19 list, and that player is not counted on the active roster.
Per agreed upon NFL-NFLPA policy, teams are not permitted to comment on a player's medical status other than referring to roster status. That includes not disclosing whether players are in quarantine or have tested positive for COVID-19.
Jenkins is the third Bears player to be placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list, joining third-year tight end Eric Saubert and undrafted rookie running back Artavis Pierce.

Read we might roll the dice on Robert Nkemdiche. Huge disappointment but could see us gambling on him.

Re: John Jenkins Covid?
This season is going to be a disaster if the league goes forward with it.
With the high rate of communicability of COVID, combined with the low rate of significant impact on young, healthy people who become infected, this quarantine policy will make it virtually impossible to field a functional football team.
It's going to lead to more injuries than we've ever seen in a season. IMHO the league should either let players play if they are infected but asymptomatic or just call the season off. This "in-between" approach is going to be a train wreck.

Re: John Jenkins Covid?
Crazy to think they had more time to plan than any league and decided not to just go the bubble route. 4 bubble locations with a closed 14 game schedule (play 7 opponents 2x each, with games spread between Thur-Mon, including Fri/Sat) and full playoffs.. We'll see if we get close to that with a normal schedule. Bubbles wouldn't have been broke until 4 teams left standing, one from each bubble.grendel2000 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 03, 2020 7:45 amThis season is going to be a disaster if the league goes forward with it.

NHL just reported no positive tests today from within the Bubble(s).
I don't know how the NFL is going to pull this off w/o a Bubble.
