Ex Bears always destroy the Bears. Mike Davis goes for 175 and 3 TDs against a shaky Bears run D. Foles and the O continue to improve but it's not enough as they are kept off the field for long stretches of the game. A late game flurry of TDs makes this one closer than it looks. Questions about Nagy's head coaching ability, as crazy as they are for a coach with such a good overall record, grow. Bears fans wallow in misery for another week.

I will kill you if you cut me at the knees. You will drink with me when invited and stay til I say so. We only listen to American Music. I make men nervous with just my presence. I expect an apology if you hold. I throw linemen at QB's. Believe the Lore!

Teddy Bridgewater is the type of QB that feasts on "bend dont break" defenses. He's a dink and dunk sort of guy by nature. McCaffery should be back, that's not good for us. Hopefully we can keep them out of the end zone, but I suspect they control the ball / clock on us. On the flip side, the Carolina rush defense is pretty poor. Nagy needs to run the ball this week and stick with it against a team that we should be able to run on - don't give up on it early if it's not there. So our offense should be able to control the ball / clock on THEM.

Put those two thoughts together, and you should have a close, relatively low scoring game. Whoever manages to get into the end zone / red zone efficiency will win - I like Foles.

Geez, Teddy's only lost to the Bears once - as a rookie.
https://www.pro-football-reference.com/ ... opp_id=chi

But then other than last year he was playing the Shea McClellin Lamar Houston Bears that basically had no linebackers, little pass rush threat, absent DTs and only Fuller and Amos in the secondary. Yikes. How did they not give up 100 points?

This current Bear D is up to the task. They'll bend for 100 rushing yards. But they'll stifle the dink and dunk, and a recently fierce pass rush is going to show Teddy some things he hasn't seen in several weeks (like, a sack). I think it is time for the kid to get his first INT, after missing one almost every game.

Foles gonna do what Foles gonna do. Couple of missed bad passes, an unfortunate pick no thanks to Bear WR, and the strings of 5-6 completions several times to lead the offense to score 3 times.

23-16 Bears. Both teams move the ball pretty good but tighten up in the red zone. Each offense only scores 1 TD, game decided on a return TD by Patterson or E Jackson.

I'm impressed the team put together a strong enough performance to win the game against Tampa. They *should* be able to carry that momentum, combined with a nice 10 day rest to recover and prepare, into a win over Carolina. However, the team always seems to play so flat after any kind of bye, it's a tough one to call.

I actually feel pretty good about this game. The Panther's defense isn't as good as those we've faced the last several weeks, Foles timing with his receivers should continue to improve, and I don't see Carolina as being able to score a bunch of points on a regular basis. We're never going to blow anyone out but this win should come more comfortably than we've seen this year.

I have Trubisky coming in in the 4th quarter, leading to two touchdown drives, and a 14 to 13 Bears win.

I'm probably wrong, but I dare anyone to say you can't possibly see it happening.

Seeing as the Bears have only conceded 1 passing TD to a WR so far this season ( mike evans last week ), i think our run D ( or lack thereof ) gets exploited and this is just one of those games where the bears look terrible. Score makes it look like a closer game as we fail to put up points again in the 3rd quarter and get a garbage time td to jimmy graham.

The Bears are usually terrible after a extended week between games or after a bye - we get hyped about the extra prep time but Nagy and the guys come out cold - I see it happening again on Sunday in Carolina.

Two 20-19 Bears wins in a row sounds about right.

Teddy gets banged around so much, he forgets what down it is. Big Nick throws 2 TDs to Montgomery. Monty rushes for another.

Before the season it looked like Carolina would be in a full blown rebuild and in the running for the #1 pick. Somehow, they're not bad, at all. In fact, they've looked pretty solid.

This is now a pretty tough game and I think we drop it.

OK, for the contest only I pick a 22-22 tie.

But really this the week folks see the Bears for the contender they truly are.

Bears win in a rout. 42-6

I can't possibly see it happening. Maybe it has the same chance as a large meteorite hitting the field during the game. I *could* happen - but it won't.

I mean, there is always a chance for injury and a backup coming in. But I think there is just a good a chance we see Bray over Trubisky. And then even if 10 came in I don't see 2 TDs in the 4th for the win. It isn't Detroit - these are different cats.

Side note: at least my laptop has moved on. It suggested I replace "Trubisky" with "rubbishy" - it really did!

This feels like a game the Bears should win, but somehow won't.

Still, I did have my only straightup miss of the year last week, picking against the Bears.

Hmm.

I fear the curse of ex Bears having great revenge games combined with the Bye week/Long week fall-on-yo-face curse. I still think the Bears can pull this one out, but the loss of Daniels makes our O struggle and it's another nail biter.

Panthers are giving up a whopping 5.4 yards per rushing attempt, maybe this is the game where our running game gets healthy again. I think Foles continues to grow in this offense, and while Teddy is playing decent ball I think our "bend but don't break" defense is going to continue its stingy ways (4th in points allowed this season).

Just to point out if you're taking part in Middleguard's scoring then this is a duplicate of my prediction. If not then hey, great minds and all that! :)
