Florio seems to think the most likely outcome is Jimmy G being cut. They'd save over 20M cap space as his cap hit on a cut is only 2M. And he said no one will take on his 25M price point, making a trade unlikely.

He'd be a good fit for our offense, but the guy is just too small and can't stay healthy. Still, if the other options don't materialize, and he could be had for a reasonable price, he might be an intriguing option for us to pair up with Foles - you'd need a competent backup if you take on Jimmy and Foles is that.

I've said from the beginning that I think Jimmy is the most like option ... but that was before the Wentz rumors.

Atlanta would have to decide that they are going to move on from Matty Ice for the 9ers to walk from Jimmy (going with the assumption that is who Shanahan would want) - and I don't know if they would do that prior to being on the clock in April.

Yeah, everyone's anxious for answers, but waiting until draft shakeouts could end up being necessary and/or the better option.

He's got plenty of size, but his injury history as a starter is concerning. Hasn't SF said they are keeping him around anyway?

I must have seen him at a strange angle then. I was front row, corner end zone the year they beat us behind 5 Gould FG's. I saw Garappolo warming up pregame and he looked absolutely tiny, dwarfed by the people around him.

I was at that game as well. Freakishly beautiful December day. Sitting in Soldier Field in just a sweatshirt.

Isn’t every team saying the same thing about their players right now?
