The only Bears' QB to lead them to a SB says the Pack are the best organization he played for and the Bears are where QBs go to die. Some things just don't change.
For the first time in NFL draft history, a team has drafted a QB and a WR in the top 10.

He was a major disappointment. Buddy of mine golfs with him all the time. He's not sane.

While I don't disagree with him .... he's a miserable human being. I've witnessed some of his behavior first-hand and it has forever tainted him in my eyes.

Did he even like the Bears when he played for the Bears?

He’s right and you damned well know it. Packers are by far a better organization, and anything the Bears have done with the QB position has gone either wrong, or terribly wrong.

This organization has been run like a joke, and continues to be the butt of jokes (this coming from a Cubs fan since 1981). It’s not uncommon to be greeted by strangers as “Mitchell Trubisky! Hahaha!” when I wear my Bears apparel (I live in Georgia and travel to Florida extensively). Even my girlfriend feels this Mitchell Trubisky guy is either the most famous or dubious character.

Just calling a spade a spade.

He’s not wrong here, but the guy just says/does shit for attention. This is the guy who wore his Bears jersey to the White House when the Packers won the SB. Don’t feed the troll!

I don't disagree, to an extent. QBs don't come here to die, they just die after getting here, minor distinction there. Or maybe they just don't work out here.

Jimmy Mac needed some attention and he got it. He felt the need to be relevant that day and he succeeded. He knew how to become a "brand" and he has done so successfully.

While I loved him on the Bears, that 85 team made him who he is.

Jimmy, go smoke another bowl or 2 and shut the hell up.

85 Bears did not get to make the visit to the Whitehouse in 86 due to the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster. I believe those who wanted went in 2011, or so, when Obama invited them.

So I agree he is correct about who the better organization is, but his statement about Mitch seems to be an attention grabber. He was on stage with him at some Bears event talking about how great he would be, so at some point he was a fan of the move.

If I was a young talented quarterback ( or an older one, for that matter), Chicago is the last organization I would want to go to.

Kudos to Jimmy for stating the obvious.

Did you really expect Jimmy mac to talk shit about #10 in person? Maybe he had high hopes for #10 and they were dashed.

Why does anyone give a shit about him anymore?

I feel like he's never, ever been a pro-Bears advocate, even when he was in his heyday with the team.

Mac is pretty much right!
His statement on the surface shows deep problems in the franchise itself.

If your team is bad for a few years, thats normal and happens to anyone.
Cause of unfortune drafts, overrated coaches and so on....
But if your company is bad for many decades (only with few highs in between)
- in spite of the same chances each team got through the structure of the
league (Draft, salary cap etc. = same chances for all), then there is the conclusion
there is a lack of knowgledge how to create a successfull football team :(

Mac and Ditka didn't get along at all. Just a gut feeling but I think Mac would have liked Buddy Ryan more. The franchise poisoned their relation with him when they took Harbaugh in the 1st round because Mac kept on getting smacked around (especially the Charles Martin mugging but lots of niggling injuries) and they didn't feel they could count on him being able to play.
For the first time in NFL draft history, a team has drafted a QB and a WR in the top 10.

There was a half believed rumor that Mac changed a lot of the plays sent in from Hughes or Ditka. He could read a defense and see the field as well or better than any QB of his era. The one thing he had in common with Ditka was that they were both ferocious competitors. Outside of that oil and water.
The organization started it's long slow decline after the SB win but a good GM would have secured a strong backup. We might have a won a couple of more super bowls.
A healthy Mac for 10 or 12 games was far better than any QB they had since for 16.
The secret is to work less as individuals and more as a team. As a coach, I play not my eleven best, but my best eleven.
