Man, he reminds of me smart people I know with either skills or degrees to back it up who are very successful in life but unfortunately also have the mentality they are the smartest person in the room. This hubris makes them unable to even conceive that they are wrong on any topic and have a complete unawareness of how close-minded they actually are because of this.

Agreed. For me the litmus test for "not smart" designation is whether they respect expertise or dismiss it. Especially educated people because ostensibly they'd have an awareness and understanding of the commitment and effort it takes to become & stay a legitimate and respected expert on difficult subjects. If someone dismisses other people's legitimate expertise, you might as well stamp "Dunce" on their forehead.Xee wrote: ↑Fri Nov 05, 2021 1:54 pm Man, he reminds of me smart people I know with either skills or degrees to back it up who are very successful in life but unfortunately also have the mentality they are the smartest person in the room. He clearly thinks he still doesn’t need to be vaccinated. I think he should meet with Kirk cousins to discuss

I think he should visit Select Specialty Hospital (the rehab floor) at Sinai Grace in Detroit. The fucking dummy.

Even Isaac Newton acknowledged (in a letter to his arch-enemy!) that he stood on the shoulders of giants. To listen to Rodgers, you'd think he was standing on...his own shoulders.

if you had any doubts Rodgers is anything but a selfish arrogant self serving douche bag, then you should go watch the interview he gave on the Pat McAfee Show

Well, Rodgers seemingly at least equivocated here. I sort of doubt most of his explanations.
To the assertion that he's now in the crosshairs of "the mob" I'd have to say he's right. This thread would be evidence of that.

Lol the experimental vaccine doesn't even work. I don't blame him for not taking it. The risk/ reward is pointless. They literally CHANGED the definition of immunized for this experimental vaccine.

So he lied, demonstrated a knowledge of science that would have him repeating the fifth grade, and endangered lives in the process.
But you're joining him in crying victimhood.

That's why I got one of the real vaccines. Here's a tip: the "experimental vaccine" you were offered in an alley the other night....that's not how vaccines are injected.bearsfaninaz wrote: ↑Sat Nov 06, 2021 12:39 am Lol the experimental vaccine doesn't even work. This whole thing is so fascinating.
In one corner, we have the Golden Boy of the NFL and the Green Bay Packers. Even above The GOAT himself Tom Brady, there is a level of protection around Aaron Rodgers and the Packers that we've all witnessed for the past couple decades.
Then in the other corner, we have the narrative about Covid and the vax. You must comply. You must regurgitate the exact policies and statements from the State or you will be thrown in the trash.
It'll be very interesting to see who wins this one. Will the league actually put the hammer down on Rodgers?

if he had started his conversation in that vein, I don't think anyone would have had a problem with it ... instead he lied about his vaccination status ... he was asked "are you vaccinated?" and the first word in his response was "yeah", indicating a yes response to the vaccination question with the "I've been immunized" as wordplay gobbledygook
and he has not been in compliance with the safety protocols as he does his pressers without a mask, as well as other interactions ... compliance with the rules set forth by the NFL is not him being persecuted as EVERYONE is required to follow that guidance ... and no, he is not being forced to get vaccinated as there are safety protocols in place for vaccinated and non-vaccinated players ... so you are simply required to follow the safety protocols for your category
so this isn't a "poor Aaron Rodgers being picked on" situation ... this is an arrogant douchebag thinking he is above the rules and also thinking if he talks in circles long enough people will take his side ... and the attacks are more about him being a liar than not being vaccinated

I give no fucks of hes vaccinated or not. Nor anyone else for that matter.
Its hilarious he essentially lied about it. Stand up for your convictions. Who cares what anyone thinks. You are a millionaire HOF QB. There are a million ways he could of handled that question. He chose one of the worst. Not only a lie with, the "yes", but then the deceptive word play with "immunized".
Straighten your spine Erin. Bitch move.

Spot on Boris. Rodgers' arrogance is incredible. He basically said 'I don't agree with the rules, so I why should I have to follow them?' even invoking Martin Luther King Jr for crying out loud. It was utterly disgraceful and frankly the NFL should throw the book at him. An individual player cannot be allowed to decide for themselves which rules he follows and which he ignores. Allowing him to get away with that will set a precedent that the NFL simply cannot afford.
But this is Aaron Rodgers and the Packers and they're used to rules not applying to them.

Putting aside that we're talking about Aaron Rodgers for a second and I hate everything that cocksucker stands for.
His vaccination status is nobody's business. (BTW, is it still technically a "vaccine" if the long term efficacy rate is equivalent to getting a C or D on a test? I digress.)
If other people are worried about Covid, that is their right. They have every right to get vaxxed. Their vaccination status is also nobody's damn business.
The lying is a problem. I'm not sure what the right way to handle this is.
Maybe people need to mind their own business.
Maybe we need to have a real serious conversation as a species and make a decision if we want to end our current way of life over this thing or if after 2 years we need to accept the risks and move on with our lives.
But a conversation like that requires leadership with balls. We don't have that.

However, the NFL is a private entity that is entitled to make it's own rules for employee safety, rightly or wrongly. Rodgers has the choice to participate or not. It will be VERY interesting to see what the NFL does with this. Whatever they do, they're sending a message to the rest of the league's "no vax for me" group. I suspect they may suspend him for a game. Which won't cause a problem, since Green Bay's 7-1.

Mikefive's theory: The only time you KNOW that a sports team player, coach or management member is being 100% honest is when they're NOT reciting "the company line".

yes, the lying is the issue ... other players have voiced their opinions and have exercised their right to be vaccinated or not ... some have said they are not vaccinated and do not intend to be, and follow the protocols for unvaccinated players ... some simply dismiss the question when asked by saying they choose not to get into that conversation, which is also cool
Rodgers chose to lie, and when caught in his lie, go off on some rambling nonsense to try to cover that his lie was not really a lie ... if he simply stood up for what he believed in, there would have been no issue ... but he lied which shows his true character - douchebag

And that's the big fascination to me.
Will the league, when the refs don't even call a fair game against GB for the past like 20 years, do ANYTHING about this?
Or does it get swept under the rug like the guy jumping offsides and almost being in our backfield earlier this year, there's no call, Fields throws an "interception" and the refs stand by the INT call?
I don't know.
Or maybe this is the Jack Ruby Moment of the whole conspiracy. Jack Ruby was useful when he was towing the line for the mob. As soon as he said he wanted to spill the beans. He outlived his usefulness and he dies.
Maybe Rodgers will no longer be a protected class? Again, I don't know. I'm genuinely fascinated by how this will turn out.
Or how about in two weeks, there's an anonymous release of emails, texts or whatever from Rodgers showing him using the "n" word and other assorted offensive phrases and he gets de-activated? Or maybe a woman (or guy?) comes forward with something like he touched my pee-pee.
