While the situation is really sad, How this plays out will be interesting. Is he the victim and said “screw it, I’m not paying (anymore?)”, or is he the bad guy and is crafty enough to just try and get in front of the story after she stood up to him?

Goes to show that you really have to know who you let into your close circle.
