All three Bears coordinators have coronavirus
All three Bears coordinators have the coronavirus.
Offensive coordinator Bill Lazor, defensive coordinator Sean Desai and special teams coordinator Chris Tabor tested positive this week.
The team is still working through who will call plays if they can’t coach Monday night against the Vikings. They will participate in meetings via Zoom.
The Bears changed Thursday’s practice to a walk-through, and may do the same Friday, coach Matt Nagy said Thursday.
With very few exceptions, all coaches league-wide are vaccinated. Vaccinated players and coaches must test negative twice in 48 hours to be eligible to return.

The perfect excuse for Nagy to reclaim play calling responsibilities on offense. (Well to do so openly at any rate.)

This is about where I am at.
However I don't think the sneezing thing is as conspiratorial as TMP thinks. Totally plausible.

Maybe whoever fills in for them (at least on defense and special teams since Nagy likely reclaims the offensive play calling) call "Wally Pip" them. Maybe it's addition by subtraction. Much like I hope to see at CB with Burns out (although I was one of the fools that thought a change of teams might help him).

If whoever fills in for Desai makes that defensive backfield into a pro unit, sign them to a lifetime contract lolArkansasbear wrote: ↑Thu Dec 16, 2021 3:02 pmMaybe whoever fills in for them (at least on defense and special teams since Nagy likely reclaims the offensive play calling) call "Wally Pip" them. Imagine if the Bears absolutely ball-out against the Vikings.
Nagy is going to be completely bullet-proof

From the Sun Times: "Nagy hinted that senior defensive assistant Mike Pettine was the likely choice to serve as defensive coordinator if Desai is out."
No surprise there.

The team can hardly look less coordinated that it has most of the season, so probably no discernable change.
The secret is to work less as individuals and more as a team. As a coach, I play not my eleven best, but my best eleven.

Is it the Big Stage just because it is Monday Night? Because it is not a "marquee" matchup by any stretch of the imagination.
Interesting stat - Cousins has the 5th best passer rating in the league , all time, and the only QB in the top 12 with a losing record.

Along with 12 players on the Reserve/Covid list and 8 on the Non-Covid list. Might be having open auditions over the weekend to find enough players.

Do you think they would take a 51 year-old with bad knees? I'm 5'10" 200lbs. I'm a svelte at 18% body fat. What's the minimum check for one game? Like $100K? I'm be down for that.
