I’m holding out hope these are their obligatory interviews and their real target. Harbaugh, is being kept a closer secret.

The more I think about it, Harbaugh isn't a McCaskey kind of candidate. He's just not that nice of a guy and since Ditka, the McKnuckleheads don't go for difficult personalities. Plus, they're words or actions don't support any loyalty to former players. I'm with you and would be fine with Harbaugh. But I don't think they even grant him an interview.
Mikefive's theory: The only time you KNOW that a sports team player, coach or management member is being 100% honest is when they're NOT reciting "the company line".
Go back to leather helmets, NFL.

If he really wants to come back to the NFL, and the McCaskey's won't even grant him an interview, I think I would be done with the franchise.Mikefive wrote: ↑Mon Jan 10, 2022 10:02 pmThe more I think about it, Harbaugh isn't a McCaskey kind of candidate. I know there's some Reid-tree ptsd for us, but objectively speaking they could do worse. If nothing else, he's a SB winning coach. Bring him in for an interview, absolutely.
Theres a 2 degree of separation with him and the two Cleveland GM candidates, if thst potentially means anything.

I know.
I'm not sure what to think of Pederson. But it isn't impressive and I would hate the angle the media would run nonstop about us hiring the guy who we lost to in the playoffs.
I'd rather have Bowles.
But yeah, I'm hoping that down in the Deep Bear A'non bowels of Area 51 they've already interviewed Harbaugh 3 months ago.
I haven't heard Ryan Day's name at all either.
Getting nervous.

Why did the Iggles let Pederson go? Is he too buddy-buddy with Nagy? Did he screw up Wentz or was it just bad luck? Pederson was the big driving force for sitting Fields, as he was brought in during preseason and gave the sagely advice of sitting rookies for a year. Would we trust him with Fields?
I dunno. Don't think so.

San Francisco has always been my favorite booing city. I don't mean the people boo louder or longer, but there is a very special intimacy. Music, that's what it is to me. One time in Kezar Stadium they gave me a standing boo.

Hate it. And no coach has ever won a super bowl with 2 teams. His team fell apart as soon as reich left him.

Be ready to be done. I don't see the McCaskeys taking Harbaugh seriously, agree that he is not their kind of guy. Think squeeky clean like: Jauron, Lovie, Trestman, Nagy.Bears Whiskey Nut wrote: ↑Mon Jan 10, 2022 11:22 pmIf he really wants to come back to the NFL, and the McCaskey's won't even grant him an interview, I think I would be done with the franchise.Mikefive wrote: ↑Mon Jan 10, 2022 10:02 pm The more I think about it, Harbaugh isn't a McCaskey kind of candidate. Yep and the Pederson/Flip QB incubator worked for Wentz... until it didn't.

There are almost certainly "Nagy twists" to the concepts they share. Maybe in protections. But scheme is just scheme. Coaching/preparation and play-calling/game-time decisions are where the rubber hits the road.
Nagy can't coach and he can't game plan and he can't call games or make in-game decisions. His scheme might as well be T formation.

I think this hire is most likely to be honest.
I’m not pushin for it but it seems probable.

C'mon. Jags, hire him.Read on Yahoo Sports that he was the leading candidate for the Bears, made me want to puke. At least the writer wasn't anyone really plugged into the team.
