The secret is to work less as individuals and more as a team. As a coach, I play not my eleven best, but my best eleven.

Another Jim Caldwell tidbit:

We talk a lot about Caldwell's head coaching record being "mediocre" at 62-50.

If you throw out the 2-14 year when Peyton Manning had surprise neck surgery right before the season - something that few coaches would have been able to overcome, Caldwell's record as a head coach is 60-36, good for a .625 winning percentage.

I’m not coming round to Caldwell, but like any
HC I’ll get behind the hire. I jus find it disappointing, unimaginative, retrograde.

At the end of the day if the team wins the players get praised and if the team loses the HC will get hammered.

Ultimately - this. Short of a surprise Josh McDaniels hire I can and will spin any of these names as a good/positive hire that is going to lead the Bears to the promised land.
Holy Shit - We got Justin Fields!

In my former life I was known as FencikFanatic.

Oh, and if you were wondering - yes I'm real. And I'm fantastic.

while everyone is saying this is quinn's second interview, if poles is really being allowed to pick his own coach, i'm going to believe technically this is his first interview with the person who's actually choosing, AND THUS I'm not reading too much into it.

I would like to believe our new Whiz Kid (being sincere not sarcastic) Mr. Poles can do better than that.

I’m not losing sleep about them potentially hiring JFC. And if they do hire him I cannot see how this is Poles’ “hire”. Akin to Pace with Fox.

I would like to believe that Poles is smarter than hiring either Caldwell or Quinn.

Apparently, in addition to 11 draft picks this year including two in the 2nd and two in the 3rd rounds thanks to the Von Miller trade, the Broncos also have the 6th most cap space heading into next season.

Hiring Hackett has to increase the chances of Rodgers heading to Denver and why wouldn't he be interested given their core roster?

The defense ranked 3rd in points allowed and 8th in yards under Fangio and has strength at key positions (Chubb at Edge, Surtain and Darby at CB plus Simmons at S) and the offense is loaded with young talent:

OL: Made up of mostly young Day One and Day Two guys.
Boles - LT. 2017 1st round pick. Had major penalty issues early in career but was 2nd Team All Pro in 2020 and signed a 4 year £68m extension.
Risner - LG. 2019 2nd round pick.
Cushenberry - C. 2020 3rd round pick.
Meinerz - RG. 2021 3rd round pick.

WR: No superstars (as yet), but a strong group who are all under contract for the next 2 to 3 years who could really break out with a quality QB.
Sutton - 2018 2nd round pick. Made the Pro Bowl in 2019 and signed a 4-year $60m extension last offseason.
Patrick - 2017 UDFA. Had something of a break out season in 2020 (51 receptions for 742 yards and 6 TDs) and signed a 3 year $34.5m extension last November.
Jeudy - 2020 1st round pick with 2 years left on his rookie contract with a 5th year option.

RB: Last season they had two players who had 203 carries and over 900 yards at 4.5ypc and shared 12 TDs.
Williams - 2021 2nd round pick.
Gordon - 2015 1st round pick (Chargers). He'll be entering his 8th season and is a free agent. It will be interesting to see if they re-sign him after two productive years (2,275 yards from scrimmage and 20 TDs) with the team.

TE: A good starter and decent backup.
Fant - 2019 1st round pick. One year left on rookie contract with 5th year option. Very solid production in all three seasons to date.
Okwuegbunam - 2020 4th round pick. Two years left on rookie contract. Contributed 33 receptions for 330 yards and 2 TDs this season as the number two TE.

The Broncos are basically a QB away from being a very strong team. The only downside for them is the strength of the division they're in.

Whew.
There is a GM named Poles
Who has a clear set of goals
He’s rebuilt his team
So Bears’ fans can dream
Of winning some more Super Bowls
