The IE award for a perfect prediction goes to GO8.
The KOOLAID award for most error in favor of the Bears was hotly contested this year with some truly outrageous predictions:
1)Arkansasbear 2)Ditka's dictaphone 3)AZ_Bearfan
because of the extravagence of their predictions, I'm not considering them for the subawards.
But, as proof of the Blind Squirrel Theory, notice who did best for game 16 (Giants)
giving the offense too much credit subaward: 1)IE 2)Boris13c 3)spudbear
giving the defense too much credit subaward: 1)southdakbearfan 2)spudbear 3)RichH55
The HEMLOCK award for most error in favor of the opponent: 1)Artbest 2)Otis Day 3)Ormazd
As further proof of the Blind Squirrel Theory, notice who did best for game 7 (Buccaneers)
giving the offense too little credit subaward: 1)Hema2.0 2)Grizzled 3)WagonForce
giving the defense too little credit subaward: 1)Boris13c 2)The Marshall Plan 3)IE
The BASKETBALL award for predicting too much total scoring: 1)Boris13c 2)IE 3)LacertineForest
The HOCKEY award for predicting too little total scoring: 1)Ditka's dictaphone 2)Otis Day 3)Hema2.0
The EMO award for favoring the Bears more after a win and less after a loss: 1)Grizzled 2)crueltyabc 3)wulfy
The DENNIS RODMAN award for predicting a rebound after a loss and a flop after a win: 1)AZ_Bearfan 2)LacertineForest 3)spudbear
The PETER PIPER award for picking the most winners: 1)LacertineForest[12/14] 86% 2)Bears Whiskey Nut / Mikefive / Moriarty / WagonForce [13/17] 76%
The Grifffin award for remaining invisible so far goes to Arkansasbear, GSH, pus, and UOK.
The MIDDLEGUARD award for the most accurate predictions: 1)wulfy 2)HisRoyalSweetness 3)GO8
Sadly, my bonus got stuck at only $7 (I will PM wulfy about collecting the $57 prize)

These awards are always awesome and give me something to look forward to at the end of the year (even when we know the beloved is out of it by like week 8). Thanks for taking the time in putting all of this together! I also particularly enjoy the names you came up with for the awards.
Not that I'll probably remember it by next year, but is there anything we can do to make it easier on you to enter the data? Like a consistent format like:
Bears: [score]
Opponent: [opponent score]

YESSSSSSSThe HOCKEY award for predicting too little total scoring: 1)Ditka's dictaphone 2)Otis Day 3)Hema2.0
I think I won that for my prediction in the first Lions game : Bears 3 - 2 Lions
that’s fair enough but I’m proud of the extravagance of my predictions. The KOOLAID award for most error in favor of the Bears was hotly contested this year with some truly outrageous predictions:
1)Arkansasbear 2)Ditka's dictaphone 3)AZ_Bearfan

“Truly outrageous” - I like that
Thanks Middleguard, you’re a legend for doing these awards and keeping track of it all. Much appreciated

SWEET!!!! The blind squirrel award!!! (Dad always said blind hog but I think I’d rather be called a squirrel than a hog)
I humbly accept this award on behalf of all the other Kool Aid drinkers who “never lost the faith.”

I know this is a lot of work for you. Your work is appreciated very much.
Thank you.
Thank you.

I gladly accept my kool-ade status and would like to nominate myself for Kool-Ade Jughead Award:

San Francisco has always been my favorite booing city. I don't mean the people boo louder or longer, but there is a very special intimacy. Music, that's what it is to me. One time in Kezar Stadium they gave me a standing boo.

Very fun - thanks! I think especially after the Pittsburg game I thought we'd see more scoring in spite of that HC. In hindsight, I'm glad I was wrong!
Hope your trip was good, MG!

Thanks Middleguard! As always, great job... these contests are probably the highlight of my season.
From the Kool-Aid award last year to the Dennis Rodman award this year. I feel like there's been some real growth on my part.

Thanks for the work Middleguard! Many weeks, this is the only reason to pay attention to what this bumbling team is doing
Congrats for the high percentage, LacertineForest....I'm still claiming a (4 way) tie for first (13 correct) to keep my streak alive, though!Middleguard wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 5:25 pm

Many thanks for a fun contest, Middleguard. It was really interesting to see what everyone predicted and why they called it that way. A great tradition for a great forum.

I don't post a lot, but I've been on the board since the CB.com message boards were taken down. I changed my username a couple of years back. I'm mostly here to read as I feel like most people here know a lot more about the game than I do.

Every year I vacillate between number correct and percentage correct. This year the clearest differentiation was %, but last year it was # ( and the third place tie wasn't really: one was 3rd in % and the other was 3rd in #).
