MIAMI (AP) Former Dallas Cowboys linebacker Godfrey Myles has died after suffering a massive stroke. He was 42.

Myles' cousin, Requel Gibson, told The Associated Press on Sunday that Myles died Friday morning.

The Miami native played for the University of Florida from 1987-1990. He served as team captain and made the All-SEC team his senior year.

Myles was selected by the Cowboys in the third round of the 1991 NFL Draft. He played six years with the team, earning three Super Bowl rings. He retired after the 1996 season.

42 seems kind of young to be going out with a stroke
