As someone who has never given a damn about baseball, I find the entire Cubs story captivating and I am definitely rooting for them. What I wouldn't give to see the Bears receive the Theo treatment and build a young, talented team in just a few short years....

I am happy for my Cubs fan friends ... seeing the team get built, bit by bit, and then having it all come together and pay off has to be satisfying
I long for the day the Bears can take a similar path as the Cubs and Blackhawks ... hire a responsible guy to run the operation and give him the freedom to do so ... if we're lucky, we already have that guy in Pace, and he is just off to a slow start
valid observation ... look what Epstein did with the Cubs ... it wasn't by magic, it was by good scouting and having a plan for what type of player you want ... and being disciplined enough to stick to the plan ... and it didn't take him 30 years to make things betterdocc wrote:Now Bears..look how the Cubs were built..and the Blackhawks.

Some of my buddies don't like this move but I LOVE it, you're adding a big-time, playoff-tested bat to your lineup!UOK wrote:i @jonmorosi
Kyle Schwarber en route to Cleveland now on a private jet. He's expected to DH for the #Cubs in Game 1. @MLB @MLBNetwork

I've had this shirt for more than 2 years from the time I worked for the Iowa Cubs. Never worn it. Might break it out tonight.

I was skeptical about bringing Kyle Schwarber back for the World Series, but through two games it appears I was wrong.
And I'm confident I've not been this happy to be wrong in a long, long time.

I knew he'd be a spark to the team, but Jesus Christ.
He has the highest OPS in Postseason history now (minimum 30 at bats)!!!

Cubs Win!!!
I don’t like the idea of putting Schwarbs in right. I don’t trust that in the excitement of the moment he doesn’t reinjure himself. Pretty hard to tell the kid not to try and make any spectacular catches.
Arrieta was a God last night!
The Cubbies have home field “Wrigley” advantage now!

No Schwarber in the field at Wrigley. That sucks ass, but it is what it is. He's a super pinch-hitter who could salvage the series in Cleveland if things go wonky in Chicago.

I took the wife to game 1, such an amazing experience and the electricity in the ballpark was like nothing I had ever felt, not even at the Bears/Packers NFC Championship game.
Too bad they lost.
3-1 doesn't mean shit to me, let's go get 'em tonight!
