Not surprised. I think Chicago's sports teams all have over inflated ticket prices and lack of performance (sans the Hawks). When I think about attending a Bears or Blackhawks game, I go to St Louis, cheaper, easier to get around and I have a friend for free lodging. Can take my family of 5 to St Louis for the price of 2 of us to go in Chicago. It is a no brainer.
When the Bears renovated Soldier Field in 2003, they were geniuses, business wise, to make it the smallest stadium, capacity wise, in the NFL.
With how big of city Chicago is, and only having one NFL team, the Bears will never have a problem finding just 61,000 people willing to pay outrageous prices to go to a Bears game in Chicago.
