Meh. I gave up on free agency solving our WR problems 2 months ago.

Not that I’m particularly interested, but there’s one man’s opinion anyway.

i really don't see what problem those two players would solve that kendall wright doesn't solve already. wright put up over 600 yards with nearly zero help from anyone else. if he gets any kind of help, i don't see why those numbers wouldn't increase.Adipost wrote:Damn, this is depressing.G08 wrote:I'm so happy!

Yeah, I’m kinda wondering if FA is really the place to try and solve the WR problem this year.RustyTrubisky wrote:kind of where i'm at. not really sold on wilson at all, and while i do like lee a bit he doesnt really solve any of our problems.MrPrettyBoyFancyLad wrote:i really don't see what problem those two players would solve that kendall wright doesn't solve already. wright put up over 600 yards with nearly zero help from anyone else. if he gets any kind of help, i don't see why those numbers wouldn't increase.Adipost wrote:Damn, this is depressing.G08 wrote:I'm so happy!

Albert Wilson hits the Ryan Pace trifecta: young and ascending, coaching staff (head coach in this instance) has experience with him, and he won't break the bank.
It's a no brainer in my football world.
Lee... I don't like him necessarily, especially his hands. But he had some damned good "tape" at USC and he's a quick, precise route runner which is perfect for a WCO.

Adapt and go to plan B. Find a second tier WR, sign him, and use the money on defense or OL.

Does he really do anything that Wright doesn't though? Aside from Wright being a couple years older, they seem pretty much like the same guy.G08 wrote:Albert Wilson hits the Ryan Pace trifecta: young and ascending, coaching staff (head coach in this instance) has experience with him, and he won't break the bank.

Wright:
5'10 196
4.42 40 (pro day)
38.5 vert
6.93 three cone
2017: 59 for 614. 10.4 avg. 1 TD
Wilson:
5'9 202
4.43 40 (combine)
37.5 vert
7.00 three cone
2017: 42 for 554. 13.2 avg. 3 TD's
Wright also started to develop chemistry with Mitch. Maybe it's a case of Nagy having familiarity with Wilson, but if they already have a guy in the building...I think I'd keep Wright.

Is Robinson tagged? I can't find that.Adipost wrote:With Landry and Robinson gone, there is still some hope for Sammy Watkins. Rapoport is reporting that the Rams might have to tag Lamarcus Joyner.

I'd take my chances on a R2 WR over Watkins and his rampant inconsistency. This FA period is shaping up to be a trash monster.

Wright wasn't all that and a slice of cheese. But he also didn't have anyone around him. So there's every reason to think that he'll be better with a better supporting cast around him. And chemistry with Mitch is a fair point. I'm all for staying with the devil you know. We need a #1. We don't need to replace the productive guys we have.wab wrote:Does he really do anything that Wright doesn't though? Yeah, we don't need to replace a decent slot guy with basically the same slot guy. I don't know that there is a #1 WR out there right now tough.Mikefive wrote:Wright wasn't all that and a slice of cheese. But he also didn't have anyone around him. Relocating to Around the NFL since Landry is no longer applicable to the Bears.

i don't think Pace wants to go through a number of obstacles and gyrations just to land in the exact same place. it would be the equivalent of trading in your ford festiva for a geo metro and getting all excited about it.wab wrote:Yeah, we don't need to replace a decent slot guy with basically the same slot guy. Luckily, they may be interested in Landry, per NFL.com's Ian Rapoport.
"There are a couple teams that we should keep an eye on as far as a potential Jarvis Landry landing spot......the Chicago Bears are looking for receviers," he said.

we got a shiny, barely used mike glennon just sittin here collectin dust. even swap if you ask me.
I actually watched the video now, it almost seems like an afterthought. He mentions several teams, then casually mentions that the Bears are looking for receivers.

If they would accept a swap of 1st rounders and a future pick...I'd do it.
I will kill you if you cut me at the knees. You will drink with me when invited and stay til I say so. We only listen to American Music. I make men nervous with just my presence. I expect an apology if you hold. I throw linemen at QB's. Believe the Lore!
