I think the Bears lose again, but not in the same fashion. One of those "well Brady is the greatest ever" situations.

I had this penciled in as a loss when the schedule came out. Nothing they did during their 3 game win streak or their loss to the Dolphins really swayed me from that opinion.

Oh man. I don't fucking know. I'm used to the Patriots kicking the shit out of us, but these also aren't Lovie's Bears.

I want us to get an upset W to make up for the upset L to the Dolphins... but can you do that against the greatest head coach in NFL history and one of the best QBs in league history?

Looks like the Patriots are giving up points, and I believe Nagy will look at what his mentor did last week when Kansas City dropped 40 points on them.

I expect a ton of quick/short passing from Brady, will Fangio adjust? He didn't seem to do it last week... why not press those fucking WRs? It's a toss-up for me at this point, and I think it's going to be a huge test for MT10. Gut says loss, hope I'm wrong.

I think the Bears lose another squeaker after having a small lead at least once. Brady does just enough to keep the Patriots on top at the end: 28-27.

After last week's fiasco, I actually have the Bears offense ranked higher than their defense. I have them favored in 7 of their remaining games, but expect them to finish 9-7. That will be enough to win the division:
Bears 9-7
Vikings 8-7-1
Packers 8-7-1
Lions 8-8

Pats are 4-2, can be beat. How the Kitties came alive and beat them, I have no f*cking clue. The Jags were playing well at the time and got them.

Pats won the shootout with the Chiefs. Belichek has a glimpse of what Nagy likes/can/will probably do. Belichek will have a plan for Trubs. I think it will take Trubs a little while to get acclimated but by then it will be game over.

Expect to see quick release by Brady. Look to see Edelman have a very good game. I think the Pats run game will surprise.

I do not see a Bears W.

The Chiefs don't have the caliber of defense that the Bears do, but I think the Bears offense is still too much in it's infancy to outmatch a team coached as well as New England. That's not a knock on Nagy either.

They ran the piss out of the ball and dominated time of possession. We can't run the fucking ball otherwise that would be my approach. Keep Brady off the field and keep our defense fresh.

The homer in me says Bears win but then reality sets in and it's the first game so far that I thought would be a loss since the season started. Bears at home though it could get interesting.

the Bears had an opportunity to become one of the top 5 teams in the NFL at 4-1 and screwed the pooch in Miami

if nothing else, that game showed the Bears are not yet to the point where they understand, or can do anything about, having their destiny in their own hands ... they allow others an invitation to defeat them by simply not taking care of their own business when and where appropriate

Brady and the Patriots will not need the invitation, but will accept it as the Bears being friendly hosts ... and then they will proceed to club them over the head

it won't be as bad as it could be because i think Brady will simply get bored with a routine beatdown and make a mistake or 2 ... and though the Bears may capitalize on one of them, it won't make a difference in the end

I’m glad we’re on to the next game, I’m not glad it’s against the Pats. The bears have a few things going for them, it’s a home game, Nagy should have them fired up after embarrassing loss in Miami and the pats defense is down right bad.

I don’t believe the bears will win this game but I do think they have the make up to compete and be within 10 points come the 4th quarter.

Bears 27

This game could go in a different direction if the bears defense can get to Brady.

I couldn't remember the last time the Bears beat them, so fired up the old Google machine.

It was 2000, when the great Shane Matthews led the beloved to victory - 24-17.

That is the ONLY win against them since Super Bowl XX.

Lost the last four, and are 1-7 in that stretch.

We're due, boys!

Ah, what the hell.

I'm going to be the first to say I think the Bears win this game at home. The Pats are not the same team on the road as they are at Foxboro. Bears will employ the same strategy that the Lions had and will run the ball more with Howard and Cohen, keeping Brady off the field. I could also see Nagy exploiting the Cohen matchup against the Pats LB's in coverage like KC did with Hunt last week.

Defensively, I think the Bears bounce back as well. With the limited snaps Brady will have, the Bears defense will limit the Pats offensive production. I think the Bears win a close one at home, with Parkey getting a GW FG this time around.

I think the Bears are going to win this. They play better at home and I think that D is going to be geared up to win after last week's shit show. I think the Bears pass rush returns and they're able to get to Brady. Pats defense has been giving up points, and I think we'll see that the Bears really are for real this week.

I think this is set up to be a close game and I don't trust this team to win a close one. The Pats defense has been bad but they have a good number of takeaways it has me worried about Nagy and Mitch. I think we'll have a chance late up short.

Pats - 34

The defense needs to create some turnovers if we're gonna pull it off.

A number of factors at play here...
1. Belicheck always has a twist for young QBs.
2. By playing KC the week before, it's almost like 2 weeks of prep for the Bears.
3. Their D isn't very good.
4. Our D should have it's moments, but with a hobbled Mack we're more vulnerable.
5. We've been in every single game.
6. Belicheck and Brady vs. Nagy and Biscuit? Advantage Patsies.

Patriots 28
Bears 27

A very Brady last drive heartbreaker. (Again.)

P.S. Remember after week 1 when I predicted that the Pats will run no huddle against our D in a non-hurry up situation to tire them out? (The Fins did it in an early drive.) We'll see if that prediction comes true.

We're 4th in the league in points allowed (per game) and lead the league in turnovers (% drives ending in turnover). This of course includes the game just gone with the heat etc. that perhaps we should have coped with better but by God it certainly affected us!

Brady is on for a career high in interceptions, we're leading the league in interceptions whilst also being 2nd in rush yards allowed and 1st in rushing TDs allowed.

The loss against the Dolphins was bad, particularly for the defence. But until I see otherwise I'm sticking to the heat being the main factor. Again, it shouldn't be an excuse for that game but either way that doesn't matter going forward. We won't play in that heat again this year so it's back to how good we are normally.

I think we start pretty hot, force the Patriots to get into a shooting match and then capitalise on them forcing it.

Nagy is going to be telling them that their season is on the line with this game and bigging up how much of a scalp the Patriots are. The defence will be itching to get back to form.

The Bucs was a game for gaudy numbers but deep down people knew their early season was a mirage. This will be our real statement game.

At the start of the season I had this as the come back down to earth game with us going in at 5-0. We won't have that any of the complacency that would have been the case there and a surprisingly steely Bears team puts this game to bed.

Bears 31, Patriots 17.

I think the Bears defense comes out PISSED OFF. There is a lot of pride on that side of the ball, and if Mack is healthy, they are all going to be looking for blood. The Pats OL is nothing special, and if the Bears get to them early, it will be a LONG ASS day for Brady (who isn't very good if he's been rattled a couple of times). I'm putting my faith in the D's pride, and the ability for Nagy to scheme good looks for Biscuits. I'm going full meatball and saying;

I think we finally get to see Howard run the ball like a #1 RB. Something like 25 carries and 125 yards. Trubisky shows more growth with another 300+ yard game and a couple TD's. Bears defense comes out of hibernation and Brady takes 4 sacks.

Fangio rushes 4 with soft coverage as Brady takes 5 yard passes right up our defense's ass. Amos tackles like he has a pair of balls, but for constant 8-12 yard gains.

If I had more faith in Fangio I'd have the score flipped. Honestly with Pettine at DC I think we are 5-0.

I really like this prediction. It would really be the best game plan but I don’t think Nagy will go that route. I see him trying to outsmart Belichick and getting to innovative. Best way to slow down a high powered opposing offense is to keep them off the field, having a back like Howard could be the ticket for a bears win.

Only got to see the Fins game yesterday, as I was at Wembley for SEA-OAK on Sunday. Besides the obvious disappointment over the poor D and the 3 turnovers, I thought our offense was starting to look pretty tasty.

My gut feeling, as others have said, is that our D comes out and plays angry against the Pats. That is the key to any Bears chance of a win. And KC showed that points can be scored against their D.

Yes, this is Brady and Belichick. I dunno, we probably should lose this one and I had it pegged at a loss at the start of the season. But this new Bears offense is starting to move. I may be dreaming, but my heart tells me we have a chance. So I'm sticking my neck out.

The disparity between the Bears O and the Patriots D is greater than the disparity between the Patriots O and the Bears D.

Last week was the fluke turd game by our defense. Happens every year. It took 100+ degree heat and humidity for that to happen.

Based on the last two weeks our offense can hang with and probably outperform New England's. Our defense is better than KC's and they gave NE all they could handle.

Nagy is pissed. Our defense is pissed. We responded like champions after the GB loss. I think we do the same here.

Biscuit has a solid game. 3 TDs and 1 INTs.
Howard avenges the fumble.
Brady is the GOAT, but he can't evade our pass rush.

This is not a game I am confident in at all. The Patriots are the better team with the better coaching staff. In all honesty this game is most likely a loss for the Bears. But I have Chicago at 13-3, and I do not believe we win out. So this must be a home win for Chicago.

Nagy has this team fired up after a rough loss to the Dolphins. All week he sells protecting home field and the players buy in. The defense comes out hungry and angry. The offense is composed. Special teams is fired up to erase the memory of the missed game winner.

But this is the Patriots. Anyone who thinks the Pats won't be ready for what the Bears do is fooling themselves. Nagy is a great coach, the guy I wanted, and has a very long and even brighter future ahead of him. This year he is not on Andy Reid's level. The Pats just got done playing the big boy version of what Chicago will be. Bill B has a long history of success against young coaches and QBs. I don't see that changing Sunday.

Trubisky will have his worst game of the year statistically with 3 turnovers and just under 200 yards passing. He will make some key throws when needed but they will be few and far between. This will be the game that begins to get Howard back on track. Through sheer willpower he will break 100 total yards, and possibly break 100 rushing yards. Cohen and Mitch will also add in a few big runs as the Bears edge the Pats in TOP. Special teams wins the field position battle all game for the Bears. Parkey is 3 for 3 including a late 50 yarder.

On the defensive side od the ball, this week the Bears will bend but not break. I will not fool myself and think the pash rush will dominate. Brady and his pass catchers excel in the short game. They will dink and dunk down the field time and time again. But the D manages 2 turnovers. Mack forces a key late holding penalty. The Bears D holds the Pats to just field goals.

Bears win! 16-15

In my earlier post, I suggested something I had heard others say... That NE has basically had 2 weeks to prepare for us, since KC has a very similar offense. However, Nagy pointed out in one of his pressers this week that the Bears got to see how NE defended that offense, which is to our benefit. I didn't think about that.

So I guess that one is a wash.
