When someone sees an update. Post it. Leg bent real weird, might be a knee, might be an ankle.
I hope it’s not bad.

Looked like a high ankle sprain.

unfortunately he did it to himself by stopping and going to the ground ... wonder why he just didn't run out of bounds instead?
hopefully it is nothing too serious and he is ready for the playoffs

High ankle sprain would be awful, but if the Bears give him the next two games off and you somehow eke a bye out of it, he could be back. Imagine Jackson and Kyle Long both being healthy in time for the playoffs.

Nagy confirmed ankle sprain, said they would know more in a couple days after some tests.

They will rest him for two weeks like everyone else has been. Smart move probably won't move up anymore than where we are at.

Was wondering if many others had noticed that! He saw it straight away...Otis Day wrote:Did you see Fuller when Jackson went down. He put his hands on his head like, " Oh, fuck no."

A sprain could be anything, even back next week if he's super lucky (not that I think that's happening, not least as I've been sidelined for 2 months now with a bad one). I imagine he's back for the playoffs unless it's really bad, they'll at least test it out given it'll be win or go home.

Well general ankle sprains occur during supination of your foot. Which means your foot rotate inward, big toe towards your groin. This stretches/sprains the ligaments on the outside of your ankle and foot. This is the most common.
High ankle sprains occur during proination of the foot, or your foot rotating outward. Your little toe points at your shoulder. This causes rotation in your tibia and fibula stretching/spraining the connective tendons that attach those bones.
This is my understanding. Very different injuries, with similar names.

I'm really glad it is not something worse. It looked at the time like he might have torn his knee, so an ankle sprain is almost like good news. Really hope he can return after two weeks rest for playoff game 1. Since the Rams were so obliging as to lost to the Eagles last night, perhaps they can do us a solid and drop one more so Eddie can get a third week of rest.

When I first saw the replay, and his knee buckled, I thought he tore his ACL. I almost cried. But when they said it was an ankle, it was a huge relief. I think they will rest him the last two games, and then see where he's at. If we're lucky, he'll be at 80%+ for the first round of the playoffs. If we're REALLY lucky, the Rams lose to the 49'ers, and the Bears win out, giving Eddie an extra week of rest.VA_Mountain_Bear wrote:I'm really glad it is not something worse. Just had another look, his foot slips on the turf as he's trying to slow down and then, a bit weirdly, goes under him. Certainly looked like a pronation injury but hopefully with it being under his own weight it will be relatively minor, fingers and toes crossed!

The way he was milling about on the sideline told me they thought about letting him test it, but after they put the game away with TD to Burton he went into the locker room. So that sort of made me feel better.
I was pretty sure Lynch dislocated his elbow though the way he was holding it.

We can beat the 49ers without him and there's a good chance the Vikings game won't matter all that much. Just like when Biscuit missed two games in a row, this is a great time to rest Jackson. Get him ready for round 1.
