The Texans offered S Tyrann Mathieu a long-term deal in excess of $9.5 million per year to stay in Houston, per sources.

Team wants to keep him. He'd like to stay. He'll test the market first.

With the safety market flooded with talent, this one is intriguing. I would love to see Mathieu lined up next to E.Jack. This is a great year to have a starting safety hit the market.

I don't think I would pay him $9.5 a year. I would rather have Amos, for less.

No way he turned down 9.5 a year with his injury history unless there was zero guarantee in it.

Reports have Amos value at 4 yrs/32M/18 guaranteed. Not far off from Mathieu’s 9.5 APY.

Landon Collins just set the bar signing with the redskins, 6yr/84M/45G

I'm with you.
Mikefive's theory: The only time you KNOW that a sports team player, coach or management member is being 100% honest is when they're NOT reciting "the company line".

Go back to leather helmets, NFL.
