Nichols is back to practicing in full, so maybe this isn't a complete disaster... but this is a blow to a team that was already potentially demoralized from their performance. Long and Hicks are big personalities and there will be a void

We thought the Beard D front was deep & talented ... so now we'll find out over the rest of the season. Hicks was a force last year. Although he flashed a few times this year as well, I wonder if he was a bit out of shape and playing too heavy as I've seen mentioned somewhere here. I hope he didn't get fat & probowl happy - at least permanently.

Hicks was already a little hobbled. To have him rest up for eight weeks and get healthy. Hopefully we are still in a position to make the playoffs.
