Is he really worth that? Given everything, I can't say he is.

Buddy of mine pointed out that the CBA will impact ALL these contracts. Don't be surprised if a lot of these guys hold out again when the cap inevitably goes up.

I don't think any runningback is.

Ok I think that contract is stupid. At that point just seriously trade him and draft a running back. That position isn’t as meaningful as it used to be.

In the past ten years or so I’m trying to think of what RB would be worth that. Adrian Peterson in his prime?

AP in his prime was a killing machine. I haven't seen anyone like him since. Marshawn Lynch is up there, but even he was kind of one-dimensional.

This era of the NFL is simply not a one-back league. Teams want pairs of RBs that are essentially receivers first.

Yeah, a back like AP will probably never happen again. RB's now are shorter heavier slower WR's. It's a weird transition to watch.

There are some beatings that are so bad they are burned into your memory and that October 2007 game was one of them for me. I vividly remember our entire defense seemingly forgot how to tackle that game and Peterson made it look like he was playing against a pee wee league. That was about as low as I ever got as a Bears fan.

Indeed. That defense was no slouch, either. Urlacher, Briggs, Tillman, all still there and not over the hill. Peterson had no issues at all. They were all a step slow.

Yeah, but Hester had one of his best returns and the long bomb TD to tie the game at the end.
