Mahomes is just so much fun to watch.
I will kill you if you cut me at the knees. You will drink with me when invited and stay til I say so. We only listen to American Music. I make men nervous with just my presence. I expect an apology if you hold. I throw linemen at QB's. Believe the Lore!

Mahomes my favorite QB in the class. He still throws off balance and trusts his arm to much. But that kid is going to be special.

He still looks so raw, really needs to clean up his mechanics but I just love his "fuck you/never say die" attitude. Kid's going to be a blast to watch.

Given how maligned this class was coming out it'll be very interesting if there are three solid starters that result from it. Obviously a long way to go before that happens but it at least looks plausible at the moment.

I think in the end it's going to be a better class than people thought. Trubisky, Watson, and Mahommes look to be legit prospects. I think Kizer is a starter in the NFL, just not in Cleveland. Peterman, Beathard, and Dobbs are at least backup level guys. Kelly and Webb are still unknowns. Kaaya is kind of the odd one out...I don't think he even made it through camp.

I liked Wilson in the tape but I'd point out that there were multiple guys open on most plays. Nagy was killing them on the chalkboard and protection seemed to be the determining factor on a given play.

Kept an eye on him alright... watched him slide right past us and into KC's lap at #10. Fack.

Didn't everyone go goo-goo gah-gah over RG III and Kappy.

I also luved Mahones and thought he was best QB in draft. That being said I am very happy with Mitchell right now as well.

Though if you ask my kid he will tell you I would of swapped first rounders that year and traded for Jimmy G.

None of this is to bag on Mitch Trubisky -- I'm a big fan of the kid as well -- I just don't think his upside is the same as Patrick Mahomes. Not a lot of dudes on this planet with his combination of size, speed and arm strength.

Then you add his toughness and character and you have a potentially elite prospect.

This is going to be one of those Chandler Jones vs Shea Mcclellin things. (Not suggesting Trubs will be Shea)

This dude makes things look too easy. After watching that no look pass.... he can do things no one can.

G08 wrote: Wed Oct 05, 2016 9:21 am This is a very, very early "MY GUY!" from me  it's telling of how poorly I'm expecting this season to go :(

That being said, here's some very quick thoughts of mine on the kid:

I'm simply enamored by his athleticism, arm strength, size, and really his character: people have raved about it. His father played professional baseball and the kid spent a lot of his youth around professional athletes and it seems like it has rubbed off on him.

6'3" 230 lbs and he has a RIFLE for an arm (no joke, he can throw it 65 yards from his knees). He's this odd mix of Favre/Manziel/Rodgers when you look at his elite traits, but he still needs at least one year on the bench refining his mechanics (I don't like where he holds the ball nor how he stands in the pocket, needs to clean up his footwork as well) but the talent is there. He'll make some throws that will leave your jaw on the floor (across his body, but accurate and with zip) and other 'simple' throws that he will flat-out miss (read: mechanics).

I'm sure he'll move up the boards as the season progresses (of course, assuming his shoulder is healthy) but I'd gladly spend a 2nd or 3rd on the kid if he finishes out this season as I am expecting. He's not Russell Wilson, he's not Johnny Manziel, he's somewhere in the middle with a better arm than either.

Keep an eye on this kid... just turned 21 and is currently a Junior.

MVP in year 2, AFC Champion in year 3. God damn, kid.

I say, just goes to show the board members are better talent evaluators then the GM.

So many strong armed QBs from pass heavy college offenses who teams fall in love with and haven't been effective pro QBs. Mahomes is the outlier.

Narrator voice: Trubisky turned out to be another Shea.
