Thoughts?

Intriguing dude, I see some Alex Smith and some Tony Romo in his game... 2nd rounder right now, IMO, but if he keeps playing well I can see him sneak into the middle of the first round.

So after watching the Va Tech I was uncertain what you were seeing. He floated a lot of passes, locked on to his first read. Sense I watched highlight videos of Delaware, Pit, and full game of Florida St. I get it now.

Negatives
- He isn't asked to go through progressions.
- sails a lot of passes high
- lofts a lot of deep passes. While this can give WR the ability to adjust and shield defenders he puts to much on it making wr slow down to much.
- as above inconsistent deep pass placement

Positives

- Has a good compact throwing motion like Tony Romo. 3/4 slot delivery, and can flick it out there.
- Clearly has that confidence / control of the team and scheme
- throws a really catchable ball
-physical ability is there from stature to athleticism
- appears to make those initial defensive reads at the los.

From Matt Miller

It's impossible to watch North Carolina junior Mitch Trubisky move around in the pocket and make gunslinger-type throws and not think you're seeing a smaller Carson Wentz. Or at least that's what I thought after reviewing three 2016 games and then a mashup of his 2015 snaps

I'd be surprised if he comes out this year.

Drafting a QB who's only started 1 year up high is a bad idea.

Both good points.

But this is a much, much, much better year for a QB to come out than 2018. And who knows about injuries?

I think he will get a first round grade and decide to declare; this is a poor year for QBs and he'll get taken, IMO, around 12-22.

With a name like that, he'd be a hero in Chicago.

Man this guy is pretty good. It would be best for him to go back for another year, but why would he with this class.

I'd take him with our first pick if we were outside the top 10, I just worry he's going to skyrocket during the draft process.

Mason Rudolph in round 2 is intriguing.

I really like Rudolph. He has the makings of a guy who will be a "late riser".

I really don't think Rudolph will make it to the 2nd.
