Scenario that I like: Chubb falling to us
Scenario that I like but also makes me cringe: Barkley falling to us (the fall out of two years in a row having a starter get displaced...makes me cringe a little at the backlash from bears fans)
Scenario that makes me cringe: Taking a freaking guard at #8 overall...bleh

I will kill you if you cut me at the knees. You will drink with me when invited and stay til I say so. We only listen to American Music. I make men nervous with just my presence. I expect an apology if you hold. I throw linemen at QB's. Believe the Lore!

THAT I LIKE: The Bears making any sort of 1st round move. I feel this is a great draft for shifting around and getting optimal value in later 1st and mid-draft.
THAT MAKES ME CRINGE: Trading up to take somebody like Ward or Edmunds who was no doubt going to be there at 8.

The Pats picks line up perfectly from a trade value chart standpoint. I'd like that deal.UOK wrote:THAT I LIKE: The Bears making any sort of 1st round move. I feel this is a great draft for shifting around and getting optimal value in later 1st and mid-draft.

I'd cringe if they take a safety.

This is a sell-out:
THAT I LIKE: Ryan Pace gets his top rated player without having to trade up
THAT MAKES ME CRINGE: Trading up for anyone, I don't care if it's Chubb or Barkley... just no.

Like... The most popular choices... Nelson... Edmunds... Chubb would have me doing back flips.
Like... Trading back a little bit for Davenport...
Cringe... Any trade up.

Mikefive's theory: The only time you KNOW that a sports team player, coach or management member is being 100% honest is when they're NOT reciting "the company line".

We're certainly going to hear that Pace got his top rated player in any case.G08 wrote:Ryan Pace gets his top rated player without having to trade up

As for this thread, I think a number of scenerios make me cringe. A lot of them seem plausible. Smith, James at 8. Trade up for almost anyone side from Chubb. trade down and get a shitty player or get ripped off.
Realistically Pace can make me very angry this weekend.

I was stuck on Nelson, though there is a good chance he will be gone.
Gonna just trust the Bears to pick the best talent on the board. I can care less on what position outside QB obviously. If they can trade a few spots to pick up extra pick/s I would be even happier.

Even more painful than my Cringe scenario.Moriarty wrote:Realistic Ideal:

4 QBs are gone in top 7, no one wants to trade, have to make a meh value selection at 8 (which pretty much everyone who could be there is, in my book).
Only 2-3 QBs were gone, a trade was there begging to happen (#7 and #10 pulled off a trade down), and Pace either wasn't interested, wanted too much, or otherwise botched it.

You saw what Oakland got in a trade down. I wouldn't have moved down either.

I think this was it. He said they explored a trade down. They didn’t think it was worth losing Smith. (My take)wab wrote:Or he just wanted to take Smith?Moriarty wrote:Even more painful than my Cringe scenario.Moriarty wrote:Realistic Ideal:

If Smith was the guy I wanted and didn't think I'd get at #8, I wouldn't have been interested either.
If you find that unconscionable, that's your right.
