Yep. I think he'll wear some abstract number in the 90s or he'll don 53. Warrick Holdman's old number.cblaz11 wrote:I'd like to see him in 59...isn't that the old Rosey Colvin number?

58 will be available. No room for John Anderson if we just drafted 2 "movement" ILBs in the first 4 rounds.CrownMyAss wrote:As long as he gets a cool number like 50 or 58, or heck, have Urlacher bless the #54 for him.
Just don't want him getting an underwhelming number like 53 or 57, because I want to buy his jersey.
59... Travathan
??...Roquan
44... Kwiatkoski
53... Timu
??... Iggy
Unless he wants 43, the LB number with a 3 is taken.
Mikefive's theory: The only time you KNOW that a sports team player, coach or management member is being 100% honest is when they're NOT reciting "the company line".

Several good interviews discussing Roquan Smith here.

Id be happy to have Roquan in 50 if he "pulls a shea" in week 1 and does Erin's collarbone a mischief!UOK wrote:Nope. Shea McClellin wore it, for chrissakes.cblaz11 wrote:50 just seems like a natural fit..is it retired?

Yes, 58 was Wilbur Marshall. I wouldn't mind 58 or 52. To me, 52 would be fitting since Willis and Lewis wore that in SF and Baltimore.Umbali wrote:wasnt 58 Marshalls number? id be cool with that

Kinda shocked that nobody has a comment about Mel Tucker saying that in 10 years of coaching in the NFL, he never saw a faster LB than Roquan Smith. That's quite a statement.

It's Mel Tucker. That's reason enough for anyone to ignore it.

I feel like Pace tongue-in-cheek said that he didn't want Smith to get too big and lose his speed/quickness.UOK wrote:Bears listed Smith at 225. Combine had him at 236. Interesting. Sounds kind of like the Floyd deal his rookie year.

Well, Smith is about 40 pounds lighter, so not surprised he could have faster straight line speed. Not too shocked, Mel could be pumping his guy as well. The tape on Smith is really good. There will be LBs faster than Url, you just have to take into consideration reaction time as well.Mikefive wrote:Kinda shocked that nobody has a comment about Mel Tucker saying that in 10 years of coaching in the NFL, he never saw a faster LB than Roquan Smith. Roquan Smith reports Bears iPad, Georgia jerseys among items stolen
I'd venture to guess he did a combination of left his car unlocked/left the items in plain sight.
Got to question the intelligence of someone who would leave such items in their car unlocked/in plain sight.

I'm not going to start 'questioning his intelligence'. He made a mistake, and paid for it. End of story.RING4CHI wrote:Roquan Smith reports Bears iPad, Georgia jerseys among items stolen

He’s a celebrity now. EVERYTHING he’s got is worth that much more now. I’m sure it’s going to take some getting used to.
