MEKHI BECTON, LOUISVILLE
Height: 6’7 3/8”
Weight: 364
Arms: 35 5/8”
Hands: 10 3/4”
Now, this is a manly man. Wow, he is huge. Might be one of the biggest men I have ever seen at the combine. Arms, hands, weight and height. Maybe we should nickname him Saskwatch.
Wonder how he grades out in his athletic ability?

That weight, depending on how much is good or bad weight, would scare me a little if I was a gm.
Seems high for a tackle but some can handle it.

There's not a lot that can. Trent Brown is 380. Orlando Brown Jr is 350. Bryant McKinnie (who he's most often compared to) was 360. Nate Newton was 400.southdakbearfan wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2020 4:22 pm That weight, depending on how much is good or bad weight, would scare me a little if I was a gm.

Those are the only ones that have been successful.
You think of guys like Aaron Gibson who teetered at 415, Terell Brown at 400, and Michael Jasper at 400... they all flamed out because they couldn't keep their size under control.
Leonard Davis is kind of a little of both. He was 355 and had mixed success.
He's got a gut, but he doesn't look like he's carrying a bunch of bad weight. l'll be interested to see him work out.

His combine could push him into the top 10, or drop him into the late 20's. On film, he looks impressive. At the combine he'll have to show off tremendous power and not look slow compared to everyone else in the agility drills.

Overweight OLmen send me running in the opposite direction.
Not that they never succeed, but there's enough variables and impediments to success already, without something obvious like that.

He already had first-round tape, better than Josh Jones. This combine performance might move him into the top 15 — that kind of athleticism at that size is really rare.
His tape isn't better than Jedrick Wills or Tristan Wirfs, but he's probably moved to OT #3.

He solidified a top 10 pick. Couple pundits had him as their top 5 overall before the combine.

He was already top 15 before the combine. I didn't have him making it past the Bucs. His workout may have put him in the top 5.

We can't get him but some times guys make you" God Damn now that's a man."
In all my years of following the draft, this may be the first time I have ever read a scouting report that starts with an "athletic" man that takes a bus pass to get around. Usually it just a bus pass,

Becton is a rare physical specimen, but not unprecedented.EricTighe wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 7:11 pm We can't get him but some times guys make you" God Damn now that's a man."

Aaron Gibson was 20 pounds heavier, ran a faster 40, and had endless raves about his agility.

Yeah, apparently his Wiki article (where I got the numbers) transposed 2 of the digits.

Bad news for Becton, though.
