Same. He's pretty small for an OT or an OG, you know....positions of need.
I don't think he can play safety. His bio says he runs a 4.38 40 yard dash. So basically, we are becoming the Raiders from the Al Davis days.....just draft guys who are really fast. Don't worry about if they can play, just make sure they can run really fast.
That's two guys they traded up for who no one has heard of who would probably have been there in the 6th round....

This article got me hype for him. I actually love Pace's apparent "draft a WR every year" approach.RustyTrubisky wrote: ↑Sat Apr 25, 2020 2:37 pm https://thedraftnetwork.com/articles/da ... -nfl-draft
Also, without fail my favorite thing about the nfl draft is fans getting furious because they've never heard of a player. (ESPECIALLY on day 3)

The 3 sites I rely on have him:
33rd WR = typically undrafted
48 = not even a consideration to be drafted
58 = probably gets a camp invite. probably.
2 secondaries have:
32 = typically undrafted
36 = but 220 overall, which is a high R7
At a quick glance, I can buy him being somewhat underrated - but a R5 tradeup? Enough with the Allred-ing already.

By Monday they'll be projecting him in the starting slot position.RustyTrubisky wrote: ↑Sat Apr 25, 2020 2:40 pmThis article got me hype for him. Well when you are 175lbs it's rare a man can physically withstand getting hit by 250lbers.Middleguard wrote: ↑Sat Apr 25, 2020 5:02 pmSadly, the NFL comparisons I've found were players whose careers ended in injury.

70" @176# is a scrawniness index of 105. By no means the skinniest WR the Bears have had.mmmc_35 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 25, 2020 5:23 pmWell when you are 175lbs it's rare a man can physically withstand getting hit by 250lbers.Middleguard wrote: ↑Sat Apr 25, 2020 5:02 pm

The player who comes to mind is Marvin Harrison. 72" @185# is a scrawniness index of 103. 188 career starts.

A speedy WR than can take the top of a defense was a need too.makaur wrote: ↑Sat Apr 25, 2020 2:30 pmSame. He's pretty small for an OT or an OG, you know....positions of need.

You having never heard of someone has no bearing on where a guy was projected. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the traded a few spots ahead of the Packers. Also, all teams are trying to get faster at WR because of the Chiefs success.

From what I’m reading, Pace and his scouts were obsessed with Mooney, and coveted him enough to trade up to get him. His biggest achievement was having a great game against the corner that went 30th overall, and he’s got great speed.
At his current size, he’s going to get clocked going across the middle and not get back up on his own two feet. He could be a nifty weapon, but he’s in desperate need of some bulk.

Couple things...
Love this kids speed and route running...
The ability to protect yourself or take hits is absolutely a trait. Cohen has it...Knox did not, Shaheen does not. Not sure if this kid does....

Yes some players do roll with hits better then others. There is also in general genetic traits. Some people have loser joints leading to more injuries. Some may have predisposition to mechanical movements that lead to injury. Etc.
Knox's injury was a fluke. That hit is a 1 and a billion. Size would have helped but that shit would hurt anyone.
However size does help with impacts. It's common sense. 2 objects can not exist in the same space. Force is mass times acceleration squared in which people often miscalculate masses importance in the formula.

My TC eyes told me that Knox was about 5'11" and 160#, much thinner and more frail.
Mikefive's theory: The only time you KNOW that a sports team player, coach or management member is being 100% honest is when they're NOT reciting "the company line".
