The Bears season is done, college football is over, and the NFL Playoffs are in full swing...so I thought I'd put together my first mock of the season. All the opt-outs make it tough to project, so expect another one when the combine rolls around. I'm sure some of these dudes will go back to school too.

Anyway, as always, enjoy.

1. Jacksonville : Trevor Lawrence - QB - Clemson - 6'6" 220 lbs
About the easiest mock draft pick I’ll ever make. Lawrence is the best QB prospect since Andrew Luck.

2. NY Jets : DeVonta Smith - WR - Alabama - 6'1" 175 lbs
Smith lit it up in the national championship before injuring his finger. He needs to get a little bigger, but he’s going to be an excellent target for whoever is playing QB next season.

3. Miami f/HOU : Micah Parsons - LB - Penn State - 6'2" 245 lbs
They have invested an awful lot into their offense, so grabbing the best defender in the draft makes a lot of sense.

4. Atlanta : Ja'Marr Chase - WR - LSU - 6'1" 208 lbs
The Falcons need to overhaul the front 7 of their defense, but if they are going to make one more run with Matt Ryan, why not give him another weapon. Chase dominated college football in 2019 and would be an excellent eventual replacement for Julio Jones.

5. Cincinnati : Penei Sewell - OT - Oregon - 6'5" 325 lbs
Jonah Smith can’t stay healthy and might be better suited inside at guard. Sewell hasn’t played in a while, but he’s a punishing blocker.

6. Philadelphia : Caleb Farley - CB - Virginia Tech - 6'2" 197 lbs
They could look at a QB here depending on what happens with the coaching staff, but if not, they need to focus on upgrading at WR and CB. Farley doesn’t get as much love as Patrick Surtain JR, but he’s more athletic.

7. Detroit : Kwity Paye - DL - Michigan - 6'4" 280 lbs
The Lions have a lot of work to do, and no one is sure what will happen with Matthew Stafford, but that defense is awful. They haven’t had a good inside pass rush since Suh was on the team. Paye offers a ton of versatility across the defensive line.

8. Carolina : Zach Wilson - QB - BYU - 6'3" 210 lbs
Teddy Bridgewater hasn’t been bad, but he was benched at the end of the season and has never been the picture of health. Wilson is too good to pass up here. He gives the Panthers a future at the position.

9. Denver : Zaven Collins - EDGE - Tulsa - 6'4" 260 lbs
Collins’ name doesn’t come up a lot in first round conversations, let alone the top 10, but he gives off serious Demarcus Ware vibes. He’s going to be a fast riser as the draft season heats up.

10. Dallas : Patrick Surtain II - CB - Alabama - 6'1" 203 lbs
Assuming they don’t let Dak slip away, the Cowboys can focus on their historically bad defense. Pairing Surtain with former teammate Trevon Diggs will solidify the corner position.

11. NY Giants : Kyle Pitts - TE - Florida - 6'5" 235 lbs
Somehow Evan Engram made the pro bowl despite only catching one TD all season, plus he’s heading into a contract year. Pitts is a generational athlete at the TE position, and can also line up at WR.

12. San Francisco : Justin Fields - QB - Ohio State - 6'3" 223 lbs
Could Fields slide out of the top 10? I think so. He’s an incredibly talented player, but he’s also an incredibly frustrating one. He doesn’t always trust what he sees and hesitates to often, but when he’s on a roll, he can be unstoppable. Being paired with Shanahan would be almost too good to be true for him.

13. LA Chargers : Alex Leatherwood - OT - Alabama - 6'5" 315 lbs
The Outland Trophy winner would be a perfect person to help protect Justin Herbert. Leatherwood is an outstanding LT, but he can also scoot into guard if needed.

14. Minnesota : Gregory Rousseau - EDGE - Miami - 6'5" 260 lbs
The Vikings haven’t had a consistent pass rush since Everson Griffin, Brian Robeson, and Jared Allen were wreaking havoc. Rousseau dominated in 2019, and should pair well with Danielle Hunter.

15. New England : Jaylen Waddle - WR - Alabama - 5'10" 182 lbs
Yes, they need a QB, but they also need a lot of other pieces. Waddle would have gone in the top 10 had he not been hobbled by an ankle injury for most of the season. He’s just too perfect of a fit here to pass up.

16. Arizona : Rashawn Slater - OL - Northwestern - 6'3" 305 lbs
The Cardinals seem to have the OT’s in place, but the entire interior of the OL needs help. Slater played LT in college, and he could stay at that spot in the NFL, but his strength and ability to get leverage on his opponent makes him a great fit inside. Some scouts have even suggested his perfect position in the NFL is at center.

17. Las Vegas : Christian Barmore - DL - Alabama - 6'5" 310 lbs
The Raiders have invested a lot in the defense, so they should be better than they are, but they don’t get much push in the middle and that is what Barmore does best.

18. Miami : Travis Etienne - RB - Clemson - 5'10" 210 lbs
It seems like the Dolphins have been cycling through running backs trying to find the right one. Etienne is a dangerous runner and an excellent receiver out of the backfield…which will help Tua a ton.

19. Washington : Rashod Bateman - WR - Minnesota - 6'1" 210 lbs
Taylor Heinicke was inspiring, and I think he deserves a shot on the team, but he’s probably not the future. They do need another QB, but they have some options. Getting whoever that is some help is just as important.

20. Chicago : Michael “Mac” Jones - QB - Alabama - 6'3" 215 lbs
I don’t love this pick because Alabama doesn’t have a great history of producing NFL talent at the QB position, but…Mac is incredibly accurate at all levels and sees the field as well as any QB in college football. Things that Mitchell Trubisky struggled with. The biggest knock on Mac is his average arm strength. He’s also not going to wow you with athleticism. He makes up for those things with his exceptional football IQ, and he’s got enough wiggle that he can make plays with his legs if he needs to. I don’t know if he’s going to be elite, but the Bears need to keep drafting QB’s until they get it right. Oh, and his middle name is McCorkle, so he’s got that going for him.

21. Indianapolis : Christian Darrisaw - OT - Virginia Tech - 6'5" 314 lbs
There’s a lot of talk that Anthony Costanzo is going to call it a career. Frank Reich has mentioned that they could slide Quenton Nelson out to LT, but taking Darrisaw – the nation’s highest rated pass blocker – would let them keep Nelson at his best position.

22. Tennessee : Joseph Ossai - EDGE - Texas - 6'3" 245 lbs
Pass rush. They desperately need a pass rush. Ossai is a smooth athlete that can get after the QB with his hand on the ground or as a stand-up linebacker.

23. NY Jets f/SEA : Trey Lance - QB - North Dakota State - 6'3" 224 lbs
Ahhhh, and the Jets take a QB. Sam Darnold hasn’t been given a fair shake, and he may be salvageable, but he’s also entering the last year of his contract. Lance is a complete mystery, but jumps off the screen when you watch his limited film. If the Jets do indeed hire Doug Pederson, it will be a perfect situation for Lance.

24. Pittsburgh : Jaycee Horn - CB - South Carolina - 6'1" 205 lbs
The Steelers are in a tough spot. Big Ben is clearly past his prime but counts an astounding 42 million against the cap next season. They also need to retool the offensive line if they lose three starters to FA, need to solidify the RB position, and account for the potential loss of JuJu. Also important is the corner position where they clearly struggled late in the season, and especially in the wildcard round against Cleveland. Horn is too good of a value to pass on here.

25. Jacksonville f/LAR : Alijah Vera-Tucker - OT - USC - 6'4" 315 lbs
The Jaguars have been trying to get the OL right for a lot of years, but injuries and poor performance have derailed their efforts. It doesn’t help that Cam Robinson is a free agent, and both Andrew Norwell and Brandon Linder are potential offseason cuts. Vera-Tucker could step right in for Robinson, or even slide into guard if needed. They have to protect Lawrence at all costs.

26. Baltimore : Kadarius Toney - WR - Florida - 5'11" 190 lbs
Toney has gone from a gadget player to a full blown playmaker. It wouldn’t surprise me to see him go higher, but he’d fit perfectly with Baltimore’s electric offense.

27. Tampa Bay : Daviyon Nixon - DL - Iowa - 6'3" 305 lbs
Ndamukong Suh is a free agent and there isn’t anyone on the roster that can replace him. Nixon is going to climb draft boards in the coming months, and even if Suh is brought back, Nixon would be the future alongside Vita Vea.

28. Cleveland : Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah - LB - Notre Dame - 6'2" 226 lbs
Cleveland needs to add some pieces on the defensive line, but adding Owusu-Koramoah’s speed and coverage ability at LB is too good to pass up here.

29. New Orleans : Derion Kendrick - CB - Clemson - 6'0" 190 lbs
I think almost the entire New Orleans secondary is hitting free agency. The Saints are also in a cap crunch so the draft is going to be important. The QB turned WR turned CB has impressive instincts for being relatively new to defense and might have the most potential of any defensive player in the draft.

30. Kansas City : Marvin Wilson - DL - Florida State - 6'5" 311 lbs
The Chiefs don’t have a ton of needs. They have some questions that need answered on the offensive line, and they need depth at WR. However, the DL is undermanned. Chris Jones and Frank Clark aren’t getting a lot of help, so adding the Real Life Goon inside would take pressure off the entire front 7.

31. Buffalo : Nick Bolton - LB - Missouri - 6'0" 232 lbs
The Bills may want to add another weapon or two on offense, but adding Bolton’s speed to the second level of the defense is an exciting possibility. They also have a bunch of free agents on the OL and will want to tap into this deep class somewhere in the draft.

32. Green Bay : Rondale Moore - WR - Purdue - 5'9" 175 lbs
Finally they get a WR so their fans can shut up. Moore would give the Pack that Randall Cobb presence that they’ve been missing. They may also need an offensive lineman or two.

2nd Round
33. Jacksonville : Shaun Wade - CB - Ohio State - 6'1" 194 lbs
34. NY Jets : Najee Harris - RB - Alabama - 6'2" 230 lbs
35. Atlanta : Jaelan Phillips - EDGE - Miami - 6'5" 258 lbs
36. Miami f/HOU : Creed Humphrey - OL - Oklahoma - 6'5" 316 lbs
37. Philadelphia : Chris Olave - WR - Ohio State - 6'0" 185 lbs
38. Cincinnati : Terrace Marshall Jr. - WR - LSU - 6'3" 200 lbs
39. Carolina : Pat Freiermuth - TE - Penn State - 6'5" 250 lbs
40. Denver : Jordan Davis - DL - Georgia - 6'5" 330 lbs
41. Detroit : Jevon Holland - S - Oregon - 6'1" 196 lbs
42. NY Giants : Azeez Ojulari - EDGE - Georgia - 6'3" 240 lbs
43. San Francisco : Samuel Cosmi - OT - Texas - 6'7" 300 lbs
44. Dallas : Jaylen Twyman - DL - Pittsburgh - 6'2" 290 lbs
45. Jacksonville f/MIN : Dylan Moses - LB - Alabama - 6'3" 235 lbs
46. New England : Liam Eichenberg - OT - Notre Dame - 6'6" 305 lbs
47. LA Chargers : Thomas Graham Jr. - CB - Oregon - 5'11" 197 lbs
48. Las Vegas : Landon Dickerson - OL - Alabama - 6'5" 325 lbs
49. Arizona : Eric Stokes - CB - Georgia - 6'1" 185 lbs
50. Miami : Amon-Ra St. Brown - WR - USC - 6'1" 195 lbs
51. Washington : Kyle Trask - QB - Florida - 6'5" 239 lbs

52. Chicago : Jalen Mayfield - OT - Michigan - 6'5" 317 lbs
I don’ know if Mayfield will still be here at this point, but this is how it shook out. He’s raw, but incredibly athletic. He’s also still really young (only 20 years old). Although he’s primarily a RT, he has spent time on the blind side and kind of reminds me of Tyron Smith. The Bears OL played well down the stretch, and they will get James Daniels back next season to pair with promising youngster Sam Mustipher inside. Should the Bears decide to extend Germain Ifeidi, they could conceivably groom Mayfield to take over for Charles Leno in a year, otherwise he could step right in at RT – but expect some growing pains.

53. Tennessee : Seth Williams - WR - Auburn - 6'2" 224 lbs

54. Indianapolis : Tyreke Smith - EDGE - Ohio State - 6'4" 265 lbs
55. Pittsburgh : Jamie Newman - QB - Georgia - 6'4" 225 lbs
56. Seattle : Wyatt Davis - OL - Ohio State - 6'4" 310 lbs
57. LA Rams : Teven Jenkins - OT - Oklahoma State - 6'6" 310 lbs
58. Baltimore : Trey Smith - OL - Tennessee - 6'6" 325 lbs
59. Tampa Bay : Jamar Watson - LB - Kentucky - 6'3" 245 lbs
60. Cleveland : Jayson Oweh - EDGE - Penn State - 6'5" 257 lbs
61. New Orleans : Trevon Moehrig - S - TCU - 6'1" 208 lbs
62. Kansas City : Josh Myers - OL - Ohio State - 6'5" 312 lbs
63. Buffalo : Brevin Jordan - TE - Miami - 6'3" 245 lbs
64. Green Bay : Dillon Radunz - OT - North Dakota State - 6'6" 301 lbs

3rd Round
65. Jacksonville : Patrick Jones II - EDGE - Pittsburgh - 6'5" 260 lbs
66. NY Jets : Daniel Faalele - OT - Minnesota - 6'8" 400 lbs
67. Houston : Asante Samuel Jr. - CB - Florida State - 5'10" 184 lbs
68. Atlanta : Kellen Mond - QB - Texas A&M - 6'4" 215 lbs
69. Cincinnati : Javonte Williams - RB - North Carolina - 5'10" 220 lbs
70. Philadelphia : Deonte Brown - OL - Alabama - 6'4" 338 lbs
71. Denver : Tyson Campbell - CB - Georgia - 6'2" 185 lbs
72. Detroit : Hamilcar Rashed Jr. - LB - Oregon State - 6'4" 238 lbs
73. Carolina : Kary Vincent Jr. - CB - LSU - 5'10" 189 lbs
74. Washington f/SF : Rasheed Walker - OT - Penn State - 6'5" 312 lbs
75. Dallas : Carlos Basham Jr. - EDGE - Wake Forest - 6'5" 275 lbs
76. NY Giants : Michael Carter - RB - North Carolina - 5'10" 200 lbs
77. New England - NA
78. LA Chargers : Rashad Weaver - EDGE - Pittsburgh - 6'5" 270 lbs
79. Minnesota : Jay Tufele - DL - USC - 6'3" 315 lbs
80. Arizona : Hunter Long - TE - Boston College - 6'5" 253 lbs
81. Las Vegas : Cameron McGrone - LB - Michigan - 6'1" 232 lbs
82. Miami : Jackson Carman - OT - Clemson - 6'5" 345 lbs
83. Washington : Trey Sermon - RB - Ohio State - 6'0" 216 lbs

84. Chicago : Levi Onwuzurike - DL - Washington - 6'3" 288 lbs
The Bears only have three defensive linemen under contract going into next season. One of them hasn't played in over a year and another one may be a cap casualty. The Bears can thank 2020 for one thing... Onwuzurike opting out. He likely would have played his way into round one if he'd been on the field this season. Putting him next to Goldman and opposite Bilal Nichols would be fun to watch.

85. Indianapolis : Paris Ford - S - Pittsburgh - 6'0" 190 lbs
86. Tennessee : Paulson Adebo - CB - Stanford - 6'1" 190 lbs
87. NY Jets f/SEA : Charlie Kolar - TE - Iowa State - 6'6" 245 lbs
88. Pittsburgh : Spencer Brown - OT - Northern Iowa - 6'9" 321 lbs
89. LA Rams : Tyler Shelvin - DL - LSU - 6'3" 362 lbs
90. Minnesota f/BAL : Alec Lindstrom - OL - Boston College - 6'4" 290 lbs
91. Tampa Bay : Malik Cunningham QB Louisville 6'2" 215 lbs
92. Cleveland : Elijah Moore - WR - Ole Miss - 5'9" 184 lbs
93. Cleveland f/NO : Jordan Williams - DL - Clemson - 6'4" 310 lbs
94. Kansas City : Tylan Wallace - WR - Oklahoma State - 6'0" 185 lbs
95. Buffalo : Abraham Lucas - OT - Washington State - 6'7" 324 lbs
96. Green Bay : Pete Werner - LB - Ohio State - 6'3" 242 lbs

Rest of the Bears picks:
R4 (assumed Comp Pick): Marquez Stevenson - WR - Houston - 6'0" 200 lbs
Smooth athlete that can create after the catch. Good route runner and is a weapon on sweeps and screens. His biggest downside is health - he missed almost all of 2106 and all of 2017 with injuries.

R5: Reed Blankenship - S - Middle Tennessee State - 6'0" 205 lbs
The Bears only have Eddie Jackson and Marqui Christian under contract for next season. Blankenship is smart and can cover a lot of ground in a hurry. Has impressive versatility, but again, durability is a question mark having had two surgeries in two years.

R6: Luke Farrell - TE - Ohio State - 6'5" 250 lbs
Tough as nails and blocks his ass off, can rumble over defenders. Offers value in the passing game as a chain mover, but isn't dynamic after the catch.

R6 (assumed Comp Pick): Dez Fitzpatrick - WR - Louisville - 6'2" 205 lbs
Physical player who will fight for every ball thrown his way. Wins a lot of jump balls, but isn't overly developed as a route runner. Better athlete than given credit for.

R7: Ty Chandler - RB - Tennessee - 5'11" 205 lbs
Smooth runner with the ability to kick it into high gear. Not overly physical, but is willing to fight for yards. Ideal replacement for CPatt. He's at his best in space with the ball in his hands, and is an adequate receiver out of the backfield.

This is literally how all my mocks are going on Fanspeak and PFN. QB R1, OT R2, DL R3, Marquez Stevenson (dude screams Mooney 2.0), then looking for a TE, LB, CB, and S going BPA the rest of the way. I think a better big bodied late round WR is Jonathan Adams of Arkansas State, he reminds me a lot of Alshon Jeffrey. Not overly fast, but uses his body and head fakes well, has made some ridiculous circus catches.

I'd like to see if the Bears can trade back from #20 (might have been easier if drafting higher) to the back of the 1st and grab a 2nd or 3rd in the process. They can grab a QB (Jones, Trask) and lock him up for 5 as opposed to 4 years, OT in the 2nd (great depth this year).
[Where are my old Chicago Bears and what have you done with them, Ryan Poles?
