beaten by a friggin' MAC team. Thankfully, I didn't pay to watch the game.

5-5 and staring at 5-7 with OSU and NW left. Hard to believe they were Top 15 preseason...

Juice Williams is overrated, I like his versatility, but his decision making is terrible. The running game has been poor and Benn has been having a disappointing year.

Agree... Juice is a good athlete, but makes terrible decisions.

Also agree that Benn is a bit of a disappointment, although I do wonder what kind of numbers he'd be putting up with a better passer. Benn is getting so huge he's starting to look like a TE.

Other disappointments: Martez Wilson was a 5-star player coming out of HS, and he's worthless. And Vontae Davis is definitely nowhere near as good as advertised. I'm wondering if he isn't a lot like his brother....

As usual the Illini full of "head cases."

Benn would probably be better with a qb who made better decisions and a team with a better run game.

They are like the Cubs of college football, rarely will they put two real good seasons together.

Totally unfair. The Illini have 4 national championships and 15 Big10 championships (all since 1908). They might be the Reds or Giants... once great but long suffering... but they're not anywhere near as bad as the cubs.

Vontae Davis is an incredible prospect just like his brother. Hopefully he won't turn out to be a headcase like his brother as well. He seems unfocused.

He really does, doesn't he? I remember being actually excited to see Davis chase down that super-fast USC RB from behind in the Rosebowl blowout... you know - thinking "well - we may be losing, but we have some really good young talent on the team." And then this year a lot of that "potential" is friggin invisible. Where the F is Martez Wilson, anyway? A FIVE star prospect!

I worry people will pass over Davis because of perceived character issues and he'll turn into a complete stud in the pros. Maybe the guy is just bored with dominating at the college level. Then again, being a headcase is a trait he shares with his older brother...

Another embarrassing performance by the Illini yesterday to end at 5-7. They have as much talent as anyone in the Big Ten, except Ohio State. From Rose Bowl and preseason Top 15 to losing record.

Hope the basketball team is watchable this year.
