Got my second Pfizer shot tomorrow morning and am curious to see what the side effects will be. Everyone in my immediate family had zero issues besides sore arms except my wife who got her second shot last week. About 14 hours or so after she got the shot she had a fever of like 104 and threw up a couple times. The fever broke quickly though and by day 2 she had no issues and just slept a lot and recovered. We'll see.

My wife got her second shot last Wed and was pretty sick all day Thursday. Fever, chills, vomiting, muscle aches etc.

My reaction to the first shot (sore arm for 72 hrs, chills for about 18) was considerably worse than my reaction to the second (sore arm for 18 hrs, a little queasy for about 4, slept a little extra).

So a few months ago my wife got her first shot. Shortly after getting the shot she has developed some wierd ass issues. Now these are not necessarily from the shot.

But randomly her lips will turn blue. She's not out of breath, it's just random and her lips become a light blue. She also had an issue with her menstrual cycle. The doctor did say he had a lot of these types of problems answe the vaccine. Lastly she has developed a uncomfortable GI issue.

Her doctors have run lots of tests and have no answers. A while back I posted about a JRE podcast saying it made me rethink some things. I never got to respond when i was put down for listening to the podcast.

But what it made me think was, maybe she had covid and had a bunch of these spike proteins that nflammation. Which they do. I've read a bunch but the science for arm chair level is very scanty.

Has anyone heard of lips turning blue with a normal pulse oz, due to the covid? Or long term diereah due to covid like months.

My wife also started experiencing issues with her cycle shortly after getting poke #2. The doctor has said it's unrelated, and could be due to her nearing 40 (she's 36)... so who knows. It hasn't been anything too worrisome to this point, but the blue lips thing is certainly weird.

A co-workers mother has experienced asthma since getting the pokes. She is now on an inhaler (albuterol) when needed. Her lips have turned blue but it was due more to the asthma than anything else.

Sorry @mmmc_35, my wife has GI issues but she had those even before getting the vaccine. I would recommend taking her to a gastroenterologist to see if they can help find a cause.

Another thing to keep in mind is that while it might be tempting to attribute anything that happens after the vaccine to it, illnesses can/do develop on their own. One analogy is my mother-in-law who in the past few years has started having GI reactions (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pains, etc) to foods she's eaten her whole life. It first started out with red peppers and it seems ever year a few more foods get added to list. Again, this just came out of blue and after seeing a bunch of doctors all she got was a collective shrug of the shoulders and just was told to stay away from those foods (gee, thanks).

Yeah she has a bunch of appointments. Obviously GI. The blue lips is such a weird symptom. It looks like she's dying but acts normal.

Her family is pissed she isnt getting the 2nd shot. While the issues may not be connected, it all started at the same time and ismt worth testing it.

It's really fucking weird.

One consideration for people who do have a bit of an adverse reaction to the vax ... isn't it possible that they may have been candidates for having major problems if they got Covid outright? I really don't know but if I got super-sick from it I might conclude that it was a good thing I didn't get the real deal.

On vaxxes the one thing that I'm disappointed in is the duration of the protection. I know that the Delta variant is different and is a big reason for the breakthroughs. But the Israeli study on the Pfizer version is that protection dissipates after 6 months (from 90% efficacy down into the 42-45% range after 6 months). That means if you got the shot in March you're now down to a coin flip of whether you're going to catch it when exposed. That's why Israel is doing a 3rd booster and we will too. Especially for Pfizer. It really shouldn't be a big deal to get periodic boosters, given the value of sustained herd immunity and protection of the health care system not designed to handle pandemic peaks (which is the real core reason we need to control this thing).

Through pure luck I got the Moderna vax and although it was less popular because it has severe refrigeration requirements seems to be holding up better over time. But as soon as a booster is available, I'm in. My wife is coming home with more & more horror stories of people coming through her therapy area with lifetime disabilities from Covid. A 50 year old business owner with teenaged kids now a permanent quadriplegic. A 19 year old MSU student...permanent quadriplegic and total loss of hearing, with her sorority sisters visiting her. I just got back from PTO and asked where a co-worker was. Found out her husband had gone into the ER right before I left for PTO and was now in IC on a vent and looking like he isn't going to make it. Under 50 years old, and didn't get vaxxed because he was healthy. None of these people were vaxxed. It is an absolute horror story.

And the scary thing is the non-vaxxed are keeping it spreading just long enough for all the vaxxed to start getting reduced protection. A guy I know is the drummer for the Romantics and just canceled a short tour with them in CA because he's in the hospital with Covid. He was totally vaxxed and super-careful for 15 months. But it got through his Pfizer coverage from March. Please all my friends here - consider that. Wear masks indoors in public even if you're vaxxed. We've been properly screwed by we humans not being on the same page versus an enemy that loves our division.

So your question of, if the vaccine caused issues wouldn't the disease? We asked my friend, a virologist who helped create the mean lipid profile, this question a while back.

The answer is no, but maybe. There isnt enough to actually say either way. Kind if how I know people who had it with no problems but the vaccine kicked there ass and the other way around.

These break though cases...The issues with vaccinated and the amount of viral load is super interesting.

My wife is having really heavy cycle issues. She's also experiencing migraines. The last time she had regular Migraines was when she was on birth control early marriage.

Fuck me with this Covid thing.

I had KISS tickets for this Saturday. Row X, center, on the floor at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheater in Tinley Park.

This would've been my fifth time seeing KISS. Fourth time on the floor level.

Gene Simmons tested positive. He's My Guy too. I paint my face like his every time.

The concert isn't cancelled. Just delayed. So I will rock again.

God dammit.

So 2 years into this thing I finally got covid. Its wierd everyone I know has had it. All of my kids and wife had it months ago. I assume my weekend bender, after a really long week of my standard night shift, really fucked my immune system.

Monday morning I went for a run at 430 AM. Still slightly hung over so I tried to ignore the fatigue. Now I'm not a good runner I rounded the corner to my block and felt like I was having am asthma attack. I dont have asthma. Literally within 50 yards I was barking like a junk yard dog.

I said to myself, well you got the Corona. Got tested and slept all day. Test was positive. The next day was like a minor cold.

I personally dont take fever control medication unless I get a fever of 103 or higher. So I hovered around 101 to 102 for the first day, the second day it was gone.

Day 3 i feel fine and stir crazy. Its beautiful outside, i am off of work. Minus a slight cough I feel fine. Yet I'm stuck at home.

Im sure most have their own experience.

Sorry to hear that, @mmmc_35. I'm the same way if I start racking up consecutive nights of little sleep, I usually end up catching something.

Hoping your recovery is quick.
