I furiously *expletive*'ed to the last 5 minutes of that episode... that's all I'll say.

(Plot twist) there was no nudity or sexual situations the last 5 minutes...

If you don't want remotely any spoilers up to the newest episode (The Lion and the Rose) don't read past this sentence...

So kind of interesting how the North is the place full of assholes now and King's landing has the "good guys."

You got the traitor Roose Bolton and his bastard, and whats his name who cut off Jaime's hand. Jaime seem's to have turned it around into a decent guy, even if he attempted another sister fucking. Tywin, well we'll see what he does, but right now he's just kind of arrogant but not nearly as much as a fuck as Joffrey was. Tyrion, well everyone loves him. Cercei seems to be the last total villain in King's landing, but she's not queen anymore.

Obviously there's a lot more going on (when isn't there) but I thought it was interesting that it's taken a route away from the whole North = good guys South = bad guys that stuck from seasons 1-3.

so, Season 4 ends with a bang ... things didn't go as expected, or as I would have liked, for a lot of this season (I interpreted some things from Book 3 differently than how they were portrayed) ... that said, overall I think it was a good season

I liked the ending, but the story line between Tyrion and Jaime in the actual Book at this juncture is very different than portrayed

I am ok with the way they played it on the series, hero and redemption of a couple of good characters ... always liked the Imp from the get go ... and Jaime, even as his incestuous slimey self, still had a certain swagger and even dare I say honor about him (his refusal to kill Ned Stark after one of his minions stepped out of line)

but yeah, there is a definite difference in that brotherly relationship from what we saw on screen than what it would be if played as written ... can't go into more detail than that without giving up spoliers, but those of you who have made it at least through Book 3 and saw the HBO Season 4 finale will know what I mean

speaking of which, why don't we have a spoiler tag?

here is a good site for those who have watched the show but haven't read the books ... they provide the fill-in material that is missing from the HBO show (you can go back and read about previous episodes if you have questions) ... this link specifically focuses on the ending of Season 4 on HBO in relation to the written series :

Re: Game of Thrones Season 5

Tue Jun 16, 2015 12:56 pm

Season 5 has now run its course

a lot of things didn't necessarily go with the written version, but that's ok by me ... the book nazis who are all up in arms about even the slightest deviation from the books are cordially invited to go fornicate with a chainsaw ... you can enjoy both the books and this very well done series ... there doesn't have to be an exact match from one to the other

the season's final 2 episodes were really good ... some nasty brutal shit and some of the intrigue that keeps things going

wtf happened to our spoiler tag?

well, fuck it ...

I'm looking forward to Jon Snow coming back as a White Walker ... I can see them tossing his body over the wall only for him to be found by the main White Walker who watched him kill one of the other White Walker leaders

and Dragon Girl has been found by her people ... that was the Drago Clan who showed up on horseback, yes?

there are so many different ways they can go with all of this ... gonna be fun
if you're using the blue home color for your page, my attempt to mask the spoiler parts didn't work for you

oh well

I am now looking forward to Season 6 ... it can go pretty much any direction from here

Re: Game of Thrones

so according to the Mother of Dragons, Season 6 will be shocking and epic :
Emilia Clarke--better known as Daenerys Targaryen, the Mother of Dragon in some online circles--was chatting with Collider. The actress, who just netted her second Emmy nomination for playing the Silver Queen, had several interesting things to say about the fifth season, including her experience in filming the dragon-riding escape out of the fighting pits.

...And she also gave us a serious hint about what to expect for Game of Thrones season 6 when she suggested that the lack of literary source material might be accelerating the pace of the show.

"Next season...there's a lot of a season where you need to (rightly so) kind of need to set the scene," Clarke said. "And you have a couple of episodes where you're like, 'OK, feeding information. I get it. We're finding out about this person, and we know about that person, and oh, there's that person.' But this season coming up that we're about to film, there's none of that. It's just go, go, go, go. Shocking moment to shocking moment. Epic moment to epic moment. It's mental; it's epic. And definitely Dany's part of it."

EP6 was definitely a dull episodes by this season's standards, but still a lot of stuff happened, especially for Arya. I have high expectations for E7 if who I think will be featured finally appears.

Yeah, this last week rang a little hollow. Seemed like it had to just try and get a couple different story lines cleaned up a little, feels like maybe this is where the show runners are taking over from what Martin left them?!?!? The whole Benjen Stark thing is kind of annoying, what's that about, is he a good white walker, is he like the Eagles at the end of The Lord of the Rings, coming from no where to save the day? Why the Hell didn't he help out earlier if he's a good white walker? LOL

The only part I really thought was decent was the Sam story line.

Khalesi's appearance was only slightly less gratuitous than her standing naked in a fire for 3 solid minutes! not that I'm complaining about that part!

Season 6, Episode 8 : No One - I like how the entire episode last week played out ... there were character and dialogue references to previous seasons, and they were well used and well placed rather than being simple throw-away fillers

Arya' s story continues to twist and turn ... and now she is on a mission towards home (not knowing home as she knew it no longer exists)

Daenerys making her entrance back to Meereen was done in an interesting and understated way ... I think she is ready to run amok

I am kind of curious we have yet to see any action in Dorne ... would have thought Jaime and Cersai would have been on a blood hunt to avenger their daughter, but instead seem to have simply brushed it off, sending Jaime and his army north instead of south ... but maybe there are already too many war fronts on the fire to satisfy all of them ... and Jaime's dialogue interaction at Riverun was compelling

and then there was The Hound back in fine fighting form

good stuff ... really liked the episode

man, that finale was certainly full of so many satisfying elements ... I was curious how they were going to make sense of what I perceived to be way too many loose ends, but I think they hit a home run on this effort

Cersei certainly gets the award for tying up all of her individual loose ends ... was not expecting that series of events on her behalf

Arya also scored well on taking care of her business

then John Snow of course, and his events being 3rd place in the "taking care of business" sweepstakes tells all one needs to know about the intensity of this wrap up

happy to see the evil ladies of Dorne taking a side and joining the fray ... some may have missed that, but seeing the folks standing behind Daenerys on her ship told the tale

awesome episode

The season finale was great. I've been a fan of the franchise... though I haven't read the books yet.

For those of you that love reading great fantasy fiction I encourage you all to look into a little series called "The Wheel of Time", by Robert Jordan.

Seeing how successful the GOT series has transitioned to TV I'm really looking forward to the WOT series making the leap.... but that can be a whole new thread!
