I don't like the short week, and the Lions actually looked pretty good against the Panthers, and the Bears are on the road...
But, I don't think they have much of a problem with Detroit.

Hard one to predict being such a short week. Listening to the Bears coaches thought they had a plan in place even Mitch said he had to get to bed during his presser that's how detailed the plan is all the way down to nutrition. I think the Bears win this game decisively...
Bears < 36 vs 19 > Lions

”Damn -- Khalil Mack had another strip sack?” Gruden asked rhetorically, shaking his head at the Oakland Raiders assistant coaches in his midst. “Are you ... kidding me?”

Detroit is going to come out wanting revenge, and they are going to run into a defense that is playing at a possessed level. The defense is playing better than it was a week ago. The Lions are going to be confident coming off of a win, and just get smacked in the mouth.
Knowing what I know of Nagy. My guess is, he installed 80% of this week's game plan two weeks ago leading up to the first Lions game. There won't be a lot of new work this week, so the Bears will come into the game fresh and ready to play.
Akiem Hicks is a beast, Mack has two sacks, the back four have at least two picks.

Kind of a letdown. Bears coming off a big high with the Queen win. Kitties ramping up some confidence with the victory over the Panther.
Short week for both usually means inconsistent, shitty football. Both teams tired, Bears more so with the travel.
I think Kitties keep it close.

If the Bears go up big early, I think that this game gets ugly and REALLY chippy. The Lions don't want to lose twice to the Bears.

31 bears
20 lions
More garbage yards and a score late make it closer than it was.

The Bears are rolling right now. Detroit won't be ready. The Swagwagon is in full force. #10 throws 3 TDs. Howard gets 100 yards and a score. The defense is just too much fun to watch. Half of Detroit's offensive starters decide to retire at halftime.

The Bears are flying high and playing really well, but I'm thinking they're going to lay a turd in Detroit on the short week. Trubisky hasn't been very good on the road, and I think the Lions are going to be really motivated to show they aren't the dumpster fire they often appear to be. Hope I'm wrong and will enjoy an 8-3 team in time for my Thanksgiving nap.
I'm going to say:

It's funny, I've spent that long expecting a loss every week, it's like I'm scared to feel like we can actually keep winning every week!
We should however beat the Lions again, they are not a good team. We know what we should get from the D, so it will be interesting to see what offence we get, the 14-17 point offence that has one good half or if they can return to the 60 minute high scoring offence we've seen on occasion.
I predict the latter and a 35-17 win for the Bears

Hate the short turn around, hopefully our guys can get healed up before the 11:30am kickoff. Defense keeps playing inspired fucking football, offense hits a couple deep shots and we get outta dodge with the dub!

After predicting a massacre (and mostly getting it) against the Lions in the first game, and now having the Bears coming off a statement win against Minny, I don't think it's a stretch to conclude the Bears should dominate this next game against Detroit.
However, it's on the road, Slay will be playing this time, and the Lions will be motivated to earn some respect/avoid getting swept. Add in the fact that it's a short week, Thanksgiving game, etc. and you have the ingredients for the Bears to get beat in a surprising upset.
I think this game will be close, with the Bears needing to hold off a charge from Stafford and the Lions.

Detroit has saved face with an upset home victory over Carolina, so now they can play hard for a half and then head home to dinner. Our defense has proven to stop everything except the dinks and dunks, so that's what the Lions will do - settling for field goals most of the time.
Trubisky meanwhile, usually follows bad games with better ones, so he'll come out hot, leading the team to score on every possession in the first half. Midway through the 3rd the Lions will quit.

The Lions lost because Rivera had the big old nutsack to go for the 2PT conversion victory. A bend of luck the other way and the Lions are 3-7 and reeling from a heartbreaker.

I think the lions winning helps because it increases the alertness of hey this kitty team ain’t done. I’d prefer all the talking heads to this week keep talking poor about Mitch because I think that feeds him more then High five games
I expect the lions to be pumped to put on a good thanksgiving home display and start off bright very similar to how the cardinals did , before, bears be bears , Mack is Mack and the bears win

Detroit win yesterday was kind of costly when it came to injuries and the Bears came out last night pretty much unscathed. As far as I know it was only a couple guys in concussion protocol.
That's not to say that some of our guys are not pretty sore, but if I'm going to pick which team is more prepared for a short turnaround, it's the Bears.
On top of that, we're like leaps and bounds better.
Bears 35 Lions13.
This game's over before I finish my third beer.

Wow this game.
Biscuit is not the same statistically on the road. However, the defense is playing lights out and Miller is really emerging as a potential star.
Slay is back, but he's one guy. I'm guessing he gets put on AR15. So then who guards Gabriel, Miller and Burton?
With our momentum this has all the makings of a blowout, but we're on the road. We've had one good road game and that was against Buffalo. Yes, we beat Arizona and a win is a win, but that was awfully close.
I still don't see us losing this game. My biggest concern is that Biscuit has a bad game where he's had a few on the road this year and that would be two bad games in a row which would make me nervous as hell.

I'd be surprised if the Bears win this one, honestly - given the circumstances of having to play a night game on Sunday and then play another game 84 hours later to a team that you just played 2 weeks ago. Detroit plays much better at home than on the road, so I expect a tough test.

If the Bears are ever going to have a letdown, this is the time on an even shorter week than the Lions. Bears are only .500 on the road and the Lions are over .500 at home. Lions are used to playing on Thanksgiving. The Bears are not. Slay is back. The Lions are lifted by putting one on the Panthers, not a bad team.
I wouldn't be real surprised if the Lions win, but I just can't pick them. I think their D is going to put up more of a fight against our O. But our D will make enough plays to determine the outcome. I do think the Lions will surprise with the amount of points they score against our D. A more competitive game than we'd like.

Mikefive's theory: The only time you KNOW that a sports team player, coach or management member is being 100% honest is when they're NOT reciting "the company line".

That's a BIG problem for them. If there is no running threat, the Bears are going to pin their ears back and level Stafford.alexwilkins wrote:https://www.freep.com/story/sports/nfl/lions/2018/11/19/kerryon-johnson-injury-detroit-lions/2056793002/

The lions will have to slow down the bears pass rush if they want any hope of winning this game. The bears have capitalized on early leads. If the lions can keep it close, they have a good chance at an upset. They’re a very good 4th quarter team and the bears are not for whatever the reason. I don’t think the short week really has any impact on the game, both teams are coming out of the same time zone and they both played on Sunday. A few hours isn’t going to make much difference. If the bears control the clock and protect the football this should be another win. Their defense is fuckin’ damn good!
