Mikefive's theory: The only time you KNOW that a sports team player, coach or management member is being 100% honest is when they're NOT reciting "the company line".

The Bears on Wednesday signed kicker Chris Blewitt.
Blewitt kicked for four seasons at the University of Pittsburgh from 2013-16, converting 69.6 of his field-goal attempts (55 of 79), including 4 of 8 from 50 yards and beyond, with a long of 56 yards.
Blewitt’s biggest kick at Pittsburgh was a 43-yarder with :06 remaining that lifted the Panthers to a 43-42 win over Clemson in 2016. It was Clemson’s only loss of the season en route to winning the national championship.
Blewitt participated in the Steelers’ rookie minicamp in 2017 on a tryout basis. He is the second kicker the Bears have signed this offseason, joining Tulsa product Redford Jones.
Can’t knock creating competition! I’m all for it. Since Gould got franchises tagged, I’ll be happy when I finally see the bears have signed Steven Gostkowski!
“Protect this fucking house, go all out, leave that shit out on the field, let’s have some fun, makes some plays baby ” Mitch Trubisky #believethesleeve
The last thing we remember from last season is a double doink miss by Parkay to end the season and they sign a kicker named Blewitt ? I mean at least they have a sense of humor LOL...
”Damn -- Khalil Mack had another strip sack?” Gruden asked rhetorically, shaking his head at the Oakland Raiders assistant coaches in his midst. “Are you ... kidding me?”

College stats mean zero when it comes to nfl kickers. Another leg to try out. I expect 1 or 2 more.

Yeah, I expect them to have like 4 kickers in camp. This dude does have an unfortunate name for a kicker though.

It's arguably the worst name in kicking history. I doubt there's many worse.

Between Redford and Blewitt, best kicker names in the league for sure.

Chance Poore signed with Kentucky, but still not as funny as Blewitt. As far as Gostowski goes, he would cost too much and his numbers are down a bit as well. Even though I would love for Robbie to come back ( if he hadnt been franchised ) it probably wasnt the best idea financially. We really need to develop a good young guy in a perfect dream world.
