Don’t know be terms yet, but some hedging against Kush and Witzman being free agents I would guess.

Back? He's never been here. Seems like a decent signing. He has some starting experience.

Weird signing. Backup center maybe?

Meh.
Mikefive's theory: The only time you KNOW that a sports team player, coach or management member is being 100% honest is when they're NOT reciting "the company line".

Go back to leather helmets, NFL.

Larsen played well for us and is an upgrade over Kush IMO.

Depth competition with Kush. They might also feel more confident with him as Longs backup.

Nagy tends to fill the gaps in the roster before the draft and O line depth was an issue.
I will kill you if you cut me at the knees. You will drink with me when invited and stay til I say so. We only listen to American Music. I make men nervous with just my presence. I expect an apology if you hold. I throw linemen at QB's. Believe the Lore!

Well we needed some Oline depth so it makes sense for need. Not exciting in any way.He played OK for us in 2016, but I'd have liked someone younger.

I thought he was dogshit in 2016. Now he's just older and heavier. I'll be surprised if he makes the final roster.

Only thing I recall about him is that he's prone to stupid-ass penalties for being a douchecanoe after the whistle's blown. Bears can do better between now and August.

Yeah.. Larson I JAG & he prob won't make it past preseason.

This IS what Pace tries to do before the draft, so the team can draft best player available.

Also..
We're all just going to have to get used to something brand new to this team = Really good teams seldom. ever make "splash" FA signings.

Let that marinate a Lil bit... the Bears are a Really Good team. now :)
We used to take advantage of injured/troubled/slumping free agents sign 1 year "prove it" deals = to see if they were worth signing a longer contract, now we have FA wanting to come here on 1 year deals to take advantage of us.
Feels pretty good.

There currently is a hole on the 53 for a backup center/guard. Larson is more than likely just a training camp body, but he is cover if a player they like to fill that position doesn't fall to them in the draft.

Maybe he’ll be better under Hiestand and with a more power-oriented scheme but I still don’t want this guy as our primary backup. Extending Whitehair and finding young depth are still in the todo list
