It's been almost 15 weeks... I'm finally going to re-watch this fucking game.

Trubisky made some of his best throws when the game was on the line. More than that, he made throws that he consistently missed high earlier in the season. It was very encouraging.

After time away and thinking about it, I agree. Impressive and encouraging. Once this guy gets more football experience with more detailed understanding of Nagy's system, things could get really interesting with him.
Mikefive's theory: The only time you KNOW that a sports team player, coach or management member is being 100% honest is when they're NOT reciting "the company line".

Go back to leather helmets, NFL.

Yeah.

At some point I need to rewatch this thing.

I'll never forget the message board conversations during that game.

It's painful... starting the second half now. Trubisky HAD Miller open near the end of the first half, if he put a little more air and power under the ball that was a touchdown. Fuck.

I still think Nagy had a rookie head coach first 1/2 then finally took the training wheels off and the offense looked good late in this game.

That's a good point about Nagy being a rookie too. I think he learned and evolved as much as Biscuit did. Fingers crossed for both of them to take big steps this season.

Biscuit had AM17 All The Hits All The Time a couple of times in that game. Once in the first half and again in the second. I'm still extremely proud of how Biscuit did.

26 / 43 for 303 and 1 TD with 0 INTs with an 89.6 rating. Good enough to win.

I know its fashionable to blame the kicker and if Parkey makes that kick we win the game, BUT....

I think Jim Schwartz called one hell of a game for the Eagles. Look at all the different fronts Biscuit saw in that highlight video.

Another thing too was how the ball was spread around.

http://www.espn.com/nfl/boxscore?gameId=401038954

Robinson caught 10 of those 26 completed passes. The next closest was Gabriel with 4. The ball needed to be spread around better, but it was likely that Robinson was just the guy that was open. I'm sure on that last drive Biscuit is looking for his big money receiver too.

The running game was nonexistent. Howard went 10 carries for 35 yards.

I'll quibble one point here:
If a guy is consistently beating his man and catching the ball, you throw it to him. Sometimes a scheme gets a bunch of guys open on various plays and sometimes a guy is a playmaker and just gets open.
I will kill you if you cut me at the knees. You will drink with me when invited and stay til I say so. We only listen to American Music. I make men nervous with just my presence. I expect an apology if you hold. I throw linemen at QB's. Believe the Lore!

I said this at the beginning of the thread I believe. There needs to be a chemistry built up with Trubisky and Robinson. By that I mean, if it looks like AR is one-on-one out wide, with no safety help, he is open ALL DAY LONG. Much like we saw at the end of the Eagles game. When Biscuits started slinging the rock in the 4th quarter, Robinson was his guy, and at times he wasn't open. But AR MADE himself open by being a straight up baller.

Yup, this.

Game was on the line, and he drove the team down not once, but twice for the win. The defense couldn't hold the first time, and the second time we got the double doink from the kicker.

If anyone read my posts on another board back when we drafted Mitch they know how big of a fan I was of him. That year he was my pick mid that season when I usually started looking at the draft over the past decade or two LOL. If you saw him play in college no moment was too big for him. There were a few times he came into games late (for whatever reason) and threw the game-winning pass or came damn close to winning it for them.

He has that sort of confidence he was just very raw. I knew it would take time for him it's rare for a QB to come out of college and look like an All-Pro especially one that had such little play time as a starter but there was no denying he had the physical and mental tools to be a solid QB.

If we still had Fox as HC I think he wouldn't be this far along and most would be talking about Mitch as a bust just because how conservative that system was. With Nagy he's progressed much more quickly and really came along late in the season. Just imagine a year of offseason workouts in the same system I can see him really taking that next step this year and it's exciting to think about.

Nagy's talking about letting Mitch call plays like Manning did for years... that's a lot of confidence that he has in Mitch to even entertain the idea this early in their relationship. That says a lot and hopefully, it works out well for them and us fans. It's been a long time since we had a great QB... So long most of the younger fans probably just laughed at that and are thinking when the hell did we have a good QB.

I thought as big of a game as that was against a team as good as the Eagles are Mitch played as good as any QB I've seen play in the same situation. That second half was pretty damn good. Guys like Brady have won big games in the same exact way. I agree with others that said Nagy was way too conservative early on but when he let Mitch be Mitch he didn't disappoint. I think this year Nagy will take the reins off and lets him become our perennial pro bowl QB he can become. Fingers crossed... I believe in Mitch and I would love to see Miller and Shaheen take a huge step forward with him those 3 are the future of this offense.
”Damn -- Khalil Mack had another strip sack?” Gruden asked rhetorically, shaking his head at the Oakland Raiders assistant coaches in his midst. “Are you ... kidding me?”

is there a source for this? I haven't heard it. I haven't been reading as many articles as usual either, so not questioning, just like to find that one if you know where it came from. Thanks

"TRUBISKY PROGRESSED SO WELL IN THOSE AREAS THAT NAGY IS GOING TO HAND OVER THE REINS TO TRUBISKY AND LET HIM CALL THE PLAYS AT SOME POINT.

“THERE MIGHT BE SOME TIMES THIS YEAR WHERE I SAY, ‘HEY, JUST TAKE THIS SERIES,’” NAGY SAID. “IN OTAS OR TRAINING CAMP, ‘HEY, CALL THIS SERIES RIGHT HERE. I’M GOING TO LET YOU RUN THE SHOW.’ I COULDN’T DO THAT LAST YEAR, BECAUSE HE DIDN’T KNOW WHAT TO CALL. THIS YEAR, HE’LL BE ABLE TO DO THAT.”
