I was starting to wonder what you'd do once you get past exhibit z.

Anyone who was a fan in the 70s knows all too well how bad it can get. Between 1969 and 1978 the Bears had a .500 or better record once. Between 1996-2004, the team may as well have closed its doors.
The Bears aren’t in a great place at the moment, but this pales in comparison to the truly awful, dismal times this stupid franchise has endured.

The problem with that is you knew we were going to be bad those years. Like when we picked up Kordell Stewart as "the answer" after he was discarded by Pittsburgh. I *knew* nothing good was going to come of that.UOK wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2019 5:33 pm Anyone who was a fan in the 70s knows all too well how bad it can get. We were coming off of a 12-4 with most of the team intact...and we couldn't find the endzone or pass protection if we had Trubs using Waze with a brick wall in front of him.
The awful years are bad, but IMO this underachieving bullshit is much, much worse.

Wannstedt has been my worst Bears memory. The guy who replaced my beloved Ditka and he couldn't even complete a full sentence coherently.
AAAAAAAAAAPPPPP Curtis has a knee!
I was in hell for the duration of his tenure.

The 70s were awful. 1977 was like a miracle, they made the playoffs. It was surreal at the time. Then 84 was hellish and you knew something great was coming. It was the biggest friggin tease. The talent, the D, Payton for some of that time and only one trip to the Super Bowl. Only one championship
This franchise has been a tease, too few big seasons, too damn many frustrating ones.

Gibron's three years leading the Bears were unsuccessful, however. His teams posted a combined win–loss–tie record of 11–30–1 over three seasons. Gibron was fired in 1974,

I got to attend Exhibit A in person. Its pretty bad when the Bears only go to Seattle once every 6 years and I was more dreading attending this game than excited for it. Thanks John Fox and Jimmy Clausen.
I made a weekend trip to Lambeau with my buds to see the 42-0 at halftime game.
Thank god I was drunk that entire trip.

How about the two first rounders for Rick Mirer? I dunno... Mirer or Mack -who'd you rather have for that price?

This was also the game where Rex made Assante Samuel a probowler and a rich man. And the Bears still only lost 17-13, with Jones and Benson (RIP) gashing them for 150.

The previous high draft choice QB. Cade McNown.
Wasn’t there a time that he couldn’t get the offense past the 50 yard line against the 49’ers?
He works for a finance company now. He only spent four years in the NFL.

What about the time the Bears retired Butkus’ jersey number and the Packers beat us 33-6?
