The line briefly blocked well and Trubisky started hitting guys in stride. Then both stopped again.

this thread is an emotional roller coaster
There Bears would be losing by 20 if Stafford was playing. The Bears have 246 yards of offense against the 30th ranked defense that's missing several key players. This is hardly some great Awakening of the offense. It's just less inept.
@Hema2.0 Yeah you're probably right. But, I'll take the win and it was nice to see our O look good for a bit of the game. Hopefully, Nagy looks at the tape and sees what worked and builds on it. I'm not holding my breath but there's a chance.
”Damn -- Khalil Mack had another strip sack?” Gruden asked rhetorically, shaking his head at the Oakland Raiders assistant coaches in his midst. “Are you ... kidding me?”

Funny how that works... I seriously hope they spend some dollars on getting both lines at a pro-level this offseason. I don't know the specifics on either tackles contracts though I'm pretty sure they're stuck with them.

This was on the verge of being a feel good win to build off of into a game next week where we have a chance to revive our playoff hopes a bit. I really thought we'd score again and win going away.
Nagy throwing on 3rd and 1 just had me losing my mind. Montgomery was just getting going and Detroit had been on the field the entire 2nd half. Punting after that I just got a horrible feeling. Sure enough, the D breaks down and allows the Golladay TD.
It's really not some coincidence anymore. This defense (even when at full strength) is just HORRIFIC... I mean... UTTERLY HORRIFIC at closing out games. It's embarrassing. Even last year, we would go from the best D in the game to just USELESS. They got saved by a couple drops and misfires by Driskel. Also, the clock...
Instead of a win with positives from the offense (which I thought we had) this almost feels like a loss.

I think Massive has like 11 million in dead cap after this season that drops to very little after 2020. So he's probably around another year.
I think Leno's dead cap is a bunch more evenly spread, I think it's 6 or 7 after this season.

From the Onion:

CHICAGO—"Expressing concerns that they could give away a huge advantage by getting the Bears QB benched, the Detroit Lions switched to a loose “no-coverage” style defense Sunday to prevent Mitch Trubisky from losing his starting job. “If we’re not careful, Mitch could throw straight into double coverage, or worse chuck a pick-six, then he’s likely to be benched permanently,” said Lions head coach Matt Patricia, reminding his cornerbacks and safeties to zero-team the Bears’ wide receivers and setting up his tackles and defensive ends 15 yards back from the line of scrimmage during a timeout."
