"allegedly" being the key word. Bears don't have shit to give up.

I have to use that word,"allegedly" all the time around public defenders.

This rumor is about as bad as the rumor the Rockies traded Arenado to the White Sox.

No they're not. Because it makes quite literally zero sense with the amount of draft capital the Bears have.

Yeeaa. Even if the Bears made a Ditka style "Ricky Williams trade" offer this wouldn't get done.

Ross badly wants Burrow and they can make a good offer; question is, will the Bengals move out from the presumptive best QB that hails from OH for a pile of picks?

How about Roquan Smith, Akiem Hicks, Mitch Trubisky, Tarik Cohen, a 2nd rounder and 2 other low picks - plus next year's #1 and #3?

That's 4 probowlers and an Ohio QB plus an entire draft's worth of picks. Not enough? LOL

Throw in Braunecker and a 2027 6th and I think it puts it over the edge.

I actually think Burrow is going to bust. Just a hunch.

The Bears would have to give an entire draft and a host of core players. No thanks.

for arguments sake, let's say the Bears are one of the teams interested

why? who would they be willing to sacrifice a ton to get in this draft?

there is not 1 player at any position available in this draft that will automatically dramatically improve the Bears IMO ... and since that magical person does not exist, the Bears should have no interest unless Pace is actually trying to get fired

Uh there's only one player going number 1, no matter who holds the pick.

It's hard to get a handle on a QB who only plays well one season. Was it the system used, having overwhelming talent at WR and RB (which LSU had), etc. He did exhibit good characteristics pointing to possible success - adjustments during plays and not locking onto a receiver, not holding the ball too long, ability to thread the ball between defenders, good touch on the long ball, knowing when to run. With that being said, it's still 50-50 at most for him to succeed.

I mean, I was joking about that trade bundle. There are more affordable and practical ways to get a top QB. You start investing in them (starting in the 2nd round this year) and keep doing it until you land a franchise guy. It will happen, eventually, if you try. But you can't win a game you're not playing.

I do think Carr is worth the dollars and/or trade capital if he indeed became available. He's really good. If you slotted him into the winning Superbowl QB list, he'd be in the middle. As opposed to 10, who would be in the group of guys who shouldn't have won but did.

We assume they aren’t after Chase Young?

I don't think they're after the #1 pick at all but god I hope they wouldn't be dumb enough to have it be for Chase Young and not Burrow.

uh, are you trying to just be a smart ass?

yes there is only 1 number 1 pick ... but the team having that pick is who chooses the player that fills it

so my point is, there is no single player at any position available in this draft that the Bears could select with the number 1 pick that would be worth the cost they would pay to get the number 1 pick

OK. My point is there is only one player (Burrow) that any team is taking with the first pick, whether it's Cincy or someone trading up.

Why?
Because giving up the capital they'd have to us only worth a QB.

lol, we would only have to cut or trade half the team away to take care of the cap hit from trading mack.

I don't see either team giving up their spots. And I especially don't want The Bears to try because they would have to give up multiple round firsts, again, to get either one.
